I´ve managed it to run on the M5Stick-Cplus.

But after about 2 minutes of intervall shooting the conection betwen the m50 and the stick are lost.

Thanks a lot for this project.
I managed to pair the ESP32 with my Canon M50.
Unfortunately everything works only on the first pairing.
When I turn off the camera and the esp32 on reboot I get:

BLE device found: 
c4:ac:59:2f:ff:38
 - Found Canon M50
 - Scan completed
Forming a connection to c4:ac:59:2f:ff:38
 - Connected to server

And the software stucks there.
Did you find the same behavior?

It would be great to have Bluetooth-provided location data while at the same time using the remote, and I don't think the M50 supports having a phone and the remote connected at the same time (though I might be wrong about that). Would it be possible to have the BR-M5 present itself as a phone instead of the hardware remote so that we can also provide location data? We could get said location data from the Mini GPS Unit, or maybe even from a connected smartphone for indoor location data and no extra hardware requirement.

What general approach did you take when reverse engineering Canon's Bluetooth protocol?
