A simple yet powerful resizer for Android Image resources
For some reason, the image resized file are located in a res-mipmap dir inside res/
Is it possible to output the files in the expected locations i.e. under res/mipmap-hdpi res/mipmap-mdpi etc ?
This is a great tool, but i sometimes need to adjust and do the same process for rescaling the image and adding it to the res folders overwriting the old resource.
So instead of saying the resource already exists it would be nice to have the dialog give the option to overwrite and cancel the existing resources.
Add the option to select xxxhdpi drawable as input
Hi
This application in 4K resolution is very small.
Please fix this problem.
Thanks
The new Android Nexus's phones ave two news resource format :
420 dpi
560 dpi
Can you take this change in a future version of your jar file
If within one second method setImage is calling two time, second image visible only when you zoom in, and if you zoom out, then first picture is visible instead.
as a developer i want to be able to resize assets via command line so that it can be automated via jenkins build step
I am frustrated that I need to set target folder. It will be great if generated files appear in the same folder in folders ex.
I drag drawable-xhdpi to the app and drawable-*** appear in parent directory:
Source:
dir/drawable-xhdpi
Output:
dir/drawable-xhdpi
dir/drawable-hdpi
dir/drawable-mdpi
how to know input density for android final resizer according to image size ? Is there some chart available ?
The newest Android docs recommend to put launcher icons to /res/mipmap../. I would really like to see this as an option. Nice tool though!
It would be great if the resizer can also include a compression tool like ImageOptim.
i don't how to install it to use may you guy me?
thank you
This tool is incredibly helpful, thanks for sharing it!
When doing a batch export, the sequence of error dialogues when an asset exists can be a bit of a pain, especially on larger projects. It'd be great to either have a list of the errors that happened during the export in the app's interface, or just log it to an errors.txt file in the root of the output directory.
It would be nice to be able to set the JPG output quality.
If it tries to resize an image that is too small, it throws this exception:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Error doing rescale. Target size was 0x0 but must be at least 3x3.
And just hangs. It would be great if it simply reported the problem and continued on with the batch. And even better would be to just resize the image in the dimension that isn't too small if possible.
My particular use case is a 1x64 image, it is meant to repeat on the x axis, so just resizing the y axis would be good.
I use a bunch of assets in my drawable folder. i was wondering if the app could also resize these often large files for xxhdpi too.
First of all this tool is very helpful in generating all the image sizes needed for an app. The problem is, the output sizes for PNGs are huge (1.17MB+)! I had to re-export all the images using Photoshop with the PNG-8 setting. So, if an optimization setting can be added, it would be very helpful in reducing files sizes by 50% or more.
I am generating assets at XXXHDPI and would like to use this tool to generate assets from there.
I an using the tool to export assets for a Xamarin android project. Xamarin uses a Resources folder and not a res folder. Please allow the tool to export to a destination folder called Resources too
When resizing a 9 patch, the black lines added to the image for resizing locations is not preserved. They are scaled as if they were regular image pixels and get antialiased which causes an error when building the Android app.
