In the same spirit, I'd love to be able to override Content-Encoding along with Content-Type. Often I encounter text/plain being sent as application/x-gzip just because it's gzipped, even though chrome can handle Content-Type: text/plain + Content-Encoding: gzip.

Thanks for the plugin I've been looking for something like this.

Could I suggest that a useful feature would be an option to force a pages content type without having a link to it. I'm using this for debugging new pages for which links are not yet in place. I can use it by creating an html file with a link to the URL I'm testing but it would be nice not to have to.

The repository seems to still be on 1.6.1, while the extension in the chrome store is 1.6.2. Can you update?

I'm not sure the exact cause of the issue. But if I search google for Automated Password Generator and click on the 7th link to: http://www.adel.nursat.kz/apg/ I get html interpreted as plain text. If I right click on the link and select 'text/html', I still get plain text rendering.

But I looked through your code and it looks like you have cases to handle redirects, so I'm not too sure what's going on here. It would be nice if there was an option to switch the content-type of a page you're already on.
