NuBuildGDX

NuBuildGDX is a fork of BuildGDX aiming for stability, bug fixing and performance improvements.

My goal is to get it in good shape for long term availability and support. I will also be personally maintaining some dependencies for this as some parts are very deeply intertwined with API versions and I don't trust upstream projects to not keep changing API's every release they do.

For renderer's, the PolyGDX will be removed. There is nothing wrong with Polymost, it is tried and tested.

Summary

Reduce the bloat, increase the stability.. basically.

Crash on Game Launch (BadWindow) On Linux

I'm using 1.18.1 from the releases tab, and I'm running inside Wayland or x11 (and have xwayland installed, other x games work fine).

If I run java -jar NuBuildGDX.jar, the launcher works fine and I can pick a game and click Play, the launcher closes and the game does not launch and I get this error in the terminal window:

X Error of failed request:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
  Major opcode of failed request:  20 (X_GetProperty)
  Resource id in failed request:  0x4600007
  Serial number of failed request:  1809
  Current serial number in output stream:  1809

This is my java information:

java --version
openjdk 11.0.19 2023-04-18
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.19+7)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0.19+7, mixed mode)

[Feature Request] Raw Input

Hello. It would be very nice, if you could provide a raw input option. Mouse input in Java-based apps feels laggy at times and different Java-based games (eg. Minecraft) fixed that by implementing raw input support.

NuBuildGDX refuses to boot up any games

Yep, seems like it's a window problem? I'm not sure, but it doesn't only happen with Duke Nukem 3D, I wonder what's the problem, I'm using Arch Linux, Linux-Zen 6.7.6 as the kernel.

NuBuildGDX won't launch (Windows 10)

Whenever I try to launch NuBuildGDX, I don't get anything, no window pops up like the original BuildGDX, I have Java fully updated, so it couldn't be the problem. am I doing something wrong, or is this for Windows 11 exclusively?

Crash on game launch

Program just exits when trying to launch a game, error log states that it failed to write a core dump: hs_err_pid5584.log
This occurs when starting the game with the Polymost renderer selected.
