Introduction and Reasoning

First off, Hi 👋, thanks for joining us here. We have a code of conduct that we all need to abide by. If you feel any reason to be uncomfortable or something doesn't feel right please reach out to the Help section below and we'll attend to it ASAP.

So, you've come here looking for a job in the DevOps Space. Awesome. We have a specific reason why this repo exists. Hiring engineers with the correct passion and skill set is hard. REALLY HARD. Jobs sometimes don't get filled for months or in some cases years. The jobs either roll off or disappear through the other means to find them, this is a little more "permanent."

Also, if you are looking at this level, you probably find your job through your network. What is ATX DevOps then an amazing network for the ATX space. Thank you for being a part of it.

Usage and What We Expect

Please open an ISSUE with the following information, and then we can continue with the search with you!

  • Company Name: What is the name of the company you're posting?
  • Location: Austin "based". This could also mean a resident of ATX, and remote. We want to scope the location for people in the Austin Metro Area.
  • Job Title: What is the job title?
  • Role description: Brief description of the role?
  • Salary Range: If you can, provide - what is the salary range?
  • Do you allow remote?: If yes, please describe number of days allowed to work remote.
  • Link to job: Where can the potential candidate apply for this job?

If you are looking

Please put in a PR markdown in the looking directory with at least the following, but we have a template you can copy from too:

  • Name: We need to know who you are
  • Location: Austin "based". This could also mean a resident of ATX, and remote.
  • Previous title(s): Name any titles you have
  • Ideal role: Describe the role you are looking for, what skills you have to match it
  • A way to contact you: What's the best way to contact you?

OJO is headquartered in Austin, TX, but has offices in Austin, Minneapolis, and St. Lucia. All positions are remote.

Job Title

Infrastructure Engineer

Role description

Our Infrastructure Engineering team owns and operates cloud and container infrastructure as an internal service. This role should expect to split time evenly between engineering complex container based hosting and developing software to automate processes. This isn’t an operations role, the product teams do their own ops, this team provides the tools and services to make that possible, so you’ve gotta be proficient at both infrastructure and software dev.

Our tech stack is modern, with containers , infra-as-code, and heavy CICD. We believe that Infrastructure is an equal partner in product engineering.

Competitive. Depends on experience.

k8s Chaos Software Engineer - Verica

Company Name: Verica
Location: Remote (we have 5 Austinites so far, but we're 100% remote)
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (we don't use levels)
Role Description:

Verica is a small, well funded startup creating a software platform to perform chaos engineering experiments for complex systems at enterprise customers. Starting out, that means kafka and kubernetes, with more to come. Casey, our CEO, ran chaos engineering at Netflix. We're still pre-GA, 17 people up from 10 when I started 3 months ago, hiring vigorously. We value work/life balance, diversity, and helping the world become better through resilience!

I have several positions open for senior software engineers with unusually deep k8s experience, to invent kubernetes chaos experiments that help people increase the resilience of and trust in their systems, and implement them (platform's in python3, and lots of k8s-side work in Go with operators and whatnot). The ideal candidate is an experienced developer (this isn't a DevOps/SRE position) that has contributed to commercial or open source k8s/CNCF products and has real world experience with kubernetes running at significant scale and having subtle problems.

Salary Range: Per applicant. Salary + equity, fully paid for medical.
Do you allow remote?: Yes, remote only.
Link to job: The job isn't publicly posted, you can apply or let me know about someone else I should talk to by contacting ernest at verica dot io and I'll chat with you! Or hit me at @emueller on hangops slack.

As a member of the Security Team at LogDNA, you will be working towards raising the bar on compliance for our systems and our product. We will achieve that by collaborating across functional teams and providing guidance on best practices.

Salary Range

Competitive; exact numbers are being ironed out.
