Mentionning because I couldn't find it either with a quick web search.

I have the problem that I would like to send the website to my friends, but they are from Germany, and so they don't understand what's on this website and how to install Matrix.

Since v1.84, synapse facilitates onion<->onion federations. It's still from calling "supports", but it works, I've been successfully chatting with other hs users with full anonymity. It would be nice to add a column here for marking such support on each instance (requires a few extra steps I described here: matrix-org/synapse#5152 (comment) ).

As an example (I don't promise this instances will work long-term) I can mention two instances:

• baleron3rtjaubsc3vtgcsyrmfmkwdyph3ui2mig7rn3mnfz5ygc4cqd.onion (no front page, no jurisdiction, secret location, no rules, no privacy policy, in-house registration, 1.84.0 as of today)
• matrix.privacy34kn4ez3y3nijweec6w4g54i3g54sdv7r5mr6soma3w4begyd.onion (IDK the details)

While needed to re-register (because my old account has lost or thelike) as stated from the site ower
I discovered that registering this time needs an e-mail address. Without registering is no more possible

If this is meant with "Privacy Concerns" I'd guess to adapt that record adequately.

I am planning to deprecate the current server list in favour of https://servers.joinmatrix.org which is dynamic.

JSON is available at https://servers.joinmatrix.org/servers.json .

I don't have a date yet for ending the current JSON, but I am willing to accommodate, so please let me know when you are going to adapt to the new JSON.
