Installation error with Package Control about plaintasks HOT 2 CLOSED

This sucks. I don't know whether I should go and try to fix this bug in package manager or just remove unicode characters from Tutorial (or remove the whole file). Disappointed in using unicode in python! ruby is much better in dealing with text in different encodings. Maybe because it's written by japanese who actually use some weird encodings.

Don't know Ruby enough to compare with Python, but I think Python has a pretty good support for unicode.
Most of time it's a programmer mistake that cause issues because Python has 2 different string type: str and unicode.
In Python 3, all string are unicode so there are a lot less problem.

The problem is that Package Control open the file without any encoding conversion, so Python thinks it's an ASCII file. I think that Package Control must try to open it as UTF8 (which is 100% compatible with ASCII).
The code must be adapted to something like that:

message += f.read().decode('utf8', 'replace').replace('\n', '\n  ')
