ideally the SqsConsumer should get queue attributes in a non-blocking way, and maybe refresh it on some kind of interval.

It's just a runtime exception right now

Right now only the thread pool / message processing uses the consumer priority. Load balancing of http requests should also use the priority so lower priority consumers can't take from higher priority consumers.

The code might be cleaner if an action is created for actions such as publish a single message. The action could take care of the batching/retry logic so the SqsQueue doesn't have to

Just in case users don't call the MessageAcknowledger, it should timeout to prevent a resource leak.
