Icinga Multi Status helps you monitoring your (multiple or single) Icinga instances with comfortable alert badges and notifications about problems right within your web browser.
If you use a https url and you are using a self signed certificate or one that doesn't match the certificate you get the message, and your new instance will be refused.
unknown error
To work around that you will have to visit the API URL with a normal browser window first and import the certificate.
just started using your great plugin.
I ve discovered one issue:
if host is DOWN and acknowledged, all related services are flaged as "Houston, we have a problem!
Something seems broken, sorry."
in fact, all is green for me, but not for the plugin...
If you can correct or add an exclude option plz ?
Regards,
Hiting "Save instance" gives: "Awesome! OK xxx hosts....*". Then when I open Icinga Multi Status I see "Houston, we have a problem! Something seems broken, sorry."
How can I debug this?
The Hide and ignore services are not counted in the upper right icon, but they are listed in the overview.
Quote from the manual:
Regular Expression to hide/ignore specific services from showing up in the monitoring. You won't receive notifications or alerts of matching services. They also not showing up in the overview lists.
It will be great to have some sound alerts when something is going bad.
Can someone add this sound alerts to the plugin?
Also it will be great if we can customize it via options, to upload our sounds
In https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/icinga-multi-status still there is only version 0.9.3 for download. I'm waiting for a long time now, but there is no change.
This is a problem if your are affected by the bug, that is fixed in 0.9.4, as there is also no possibility to download a version below 0.9.3 as a workaround.
Thanks for the really helpful tool. As you asked for sending feature ideas on the help page of the plugin, I decided to do so.
It would be really helpful, if it could be recognized directly from the plugin, which services in state warning or critical are already acknowledged. If a new problem pops up, at the moment it is not possible to identify which of the troubled services is the new one. One has to check all the services in state warning or critical inside the icinga service portal to find out.
When attempting to add my Icinga2 instance for API parsing the extension gets stuck on "checking". I've opened the console and found the last URL loaded by the extension and the preview reports "Failed to load response data". I copy the URL and open it in a tab, and a very large amount of data is loaded (32.9MB). I'm guessing that either the extension or chrome have hit some transfer limit and this has caught the extension in a loop.
When trying to add the server to the config I am finding that I have to keep re-entering the same data because the server is not saved until a successful connection. This is a bit annoying and repetitive. It would be really nice if the values I've entered were saved and I could go back and modify/update them as needed.
When first installed the extension reports that everything is good, which is a bit misleading when no servers are defined. Perhaps a link to the configuration page if no servers have been added yet?
When I try to set up the extension I get an 'unknown error' notification and the Icinga 2 logs show:
[2015-11-21 18:02:39 +0100] information/ApiListener: New client connection (no client certificate)
[2015-11-21 18:02:39 +0100] warning/TlsStream: TLS stream was disconnected.
[2015-11-21 18:02:39 +0100] warning/ApiListener: No data received on new API connection.
Context:
(0) Handling new API client connection
{"error":404.0,"status":"The requested path 'cgi-bin/extinfo.cgi' could not be found or the request method is not valid for this path."}
I use your plugin with icinga2 API. The connection is functionally and shows hosts and services. The link on hostname in the plugin window goes to https://:5665/cgi-bin/extinfo.cgi.....
Could you make it configurable to input the Webserver-URL for the Browser?
