I have one of these devices, serial comms. Verified working via USB to serial cable.

I've added in preliminary support in my own fork.

There seems to be some problems in the detection code. The ball is pretty consistent in regard to the firmware query in literally every program I use to comminucate with it. However, when spacenavd does it, it seems to every other run, spew garbage and not detect properly. Not sure what's wrong here, because /dev/ttyUSB0 appears to be set correctly.

Also an issue. Apparently it isn't interpreting packets properly? The ball is returning Kxxx (where x is a valid value in its alphabet) for buttons. However, the output of spacenavd seems to be getting garbled. I'd check against other devices, but unfortunately, I don't have any. I suppose I could just directly send data to it via socat or something, or just point my spaceball simulator at it (that's good enough to fool the official windows xp driver).

Anyway, is anyone still even watching this?
