Maybe upgrade base image to java:8? This would probably gives a small performance boost and get a few more years worth of updates(OpenJDK 8 is supported until 2020).

Currently the archiva files are downloaded from http and not validated, causing a security vulnerability.

My thoughts are using a https mirror and/or verifying the file's checksum/signature would plug this up nicely.

Hi. Looking to run this container behind a reverse proxy (e.g. example.com/archiva), and I gather Archiva needs to be started with knowledge that it's being prefixed. I haven't tracked down that specific mechanism just yet, but I'm certain it would be awesome if it were exposed as an environment variable for this container.

I've played with the Docker image (cool !) and was unable to send any email (typically for a lost password).

Is the image able to send email ? Did I miss something ?
