Hello,
Thanks for your plugin. However, I have a problem with the plugin.
The resize works badly.
I put the favorites in top bar mode, but when I readjust it, it automatically goes over 2 lines when there is plenty of room.
When I delete the title "Favorites" it's even worse since the crossing point on 2 lines hardly changes.
I also adjusted the width in the option, but no improvement.
I have attached the animated gif.
thanks in advance
Favorites v1.2.1 in Joplin version 2.2.6 is installed, enabled, but in context menu is no command about this pluggin. The Favorites Pannel missing too.
If we move the panel to the far left, above Notebooks, as in the example ... the style does not match that column. It always matches the List column. Could we have it match the "current column"? Or alternatively, select something other than "default" that would mimic the left column (as in the example ... which is what i'd love to mimic)?
Please consider adding a keyboard shortcut to open / close the joplin-favorites pane. This would be equivalent to the menu command menubar > tools > favorites > toggle ...".
Great plug-in!
Summary:
When I click on a favorite, the favorited folder gets focus, but if that folder is enclosed in a collapsed hierarchy tree, I can't see the folder I jumped to.
Situation:
I use a lot of folders and sub-folders, and collapse them/open them as needed. When I have favorited a folder, and that folder is itself inside another folder, I can't see it when I use this plug-in by clicking on the link. When I open the enclosing folder, I can indeed see that the folder is highlighted and active. I would like the plug-in to un-fold the hierarchy of folders that enclose the target folder, just as Joplin itself does, when I search for a task, find a hit, then click on the enclosing folder link.
Thanks!
If you want to reorganize your notes and have an extensive notebook tree, it would be very practical if you could drag them directly to notebook favorites in order to move them to the corresponding notebook.
Once you have created favourites for your most frequently used notebooks, you can minimize navigation in the notebook tree in this way, as the notes can be dragged directly to these favourites.
This would work on the same principle as moving files to favorites in a file explorer.
It looks like manifest.json
still has the old version of the plugin:
joplin-favorites/src/manifest.json
Line 5 in 4dac48d
This line should be updated to allow users to update to the new version.
(Thank you @benji300 for providing an update for this plugin!)
When I drag a notebook from sidebar or note from note list to the Favorites panel, I get a rectangular indicator (to indicate that the mouse is over an acceptable drop point, as opposed to the circle with slash indicating unacceptable drop point), but the notebook or note are not added to Favorites.
Not a big deal since right-click menu on notebook or note allows adding to Favorites, but figured I'd report it since it's not behaving as per README documentation.
Joplin 1.7.3 (prod, win32)
If you cannot replicate, let me know and I'll check logs.
When clicking a "search" favorite, the search is not performed. I'm running Jopling 2.3.5 on Linux.
Hello,
New to Joplin here, thanks for this plugin. It ,looks very useful.
In the preferences, the background color is set to default
. How can I have it be the same as the sidebar as in the README ?
I tried setting the value to sidebar
or similar but couldn't find any correct value.
Same issue as this one in note-tabs: benji300/joplin-note-tabs#36
Saving settings in updatedWebview()
causes settings.onChange()
event which triggers updateWebview()
and so on.
Add the possibility to nest favorites like

From here: https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/workflow-assistance-help-gtd/18080/21
Provide possibility to group favorites by type:
FAVORITES
- NOTEBOOKS

- Notebook 2
- NOTES
- ...
- TODOS
- ...
- TAGS
- ...
- SEARCHES
- ...
FLAT | GROUPED
It would be great that when we select a favorite the Joplin's menu on left expanded automatically.
Hi, thanks for a great plugin!
I noticed we can use keyboard shortcuts to add notes, notebooks and tags to Favorites but I couldn't see a way to toggle the visibility of the Favorites panel like any other panel. Am I missing something?
Can we support emoji settings for items in favorites? meaning, use the emojis that are set for the target? or ... set them separately (but that seems harder)?
After selecting the favorite of a notebook currently outside the visible area in the notebook tree, the tree should be scrolled so that the selected notebook becomes visible.
Regardless of the setting of the minimum and maximum favorite width options, individual favorites are displayed too wide.

Being able to easily repeat saved searches is a necessary feature for me before I can fully switch to Joplin.
Do you have a topic on the Joplin discourse I can like to increase visibility on it?
Use case: I have many favorites and I prefer to use horizontal mode. I'm happy to give it 2~3 lines of height.
Current behavior: Currently all the favorites are on one line, regardless of the height of the container. If the width overflows the window, there is a scroll bar.
Expected behavior: I'd expect the favorites to wrap around to the next line, give that there are enough vertical space. Similar to the behavior of CSS flex-wrap: wrap
It seems that disabled input elements don't fire click events with this newer version of Electron.
Hi,
when I open the Favorites pane I got the following view.
As far as I know the first entry should be beneath the title, shouldn't it be?
Or could it be a problem with the "Ohmine Dark Theme" I use?
One time as I was investigating with the developer tools the favorites started beneath the title and I was curious why there was nothing else but the note title. Until I moved the cursor above the whole line and suddenly two icons appeared.
Is this behavior normal that the icons are not visible except one hovers with the cursor over them?
Hey there!
This is merely a suggestion, as I don't know whether and how it could be done but I couldn't find an issue here or a discussion about this on the forum so I'll just leave it here: I'd like to have my list of favorites synced along with my notes so I've got the same favorites on any client that has the plugin installed. I felt this was a very obvious feature tbh and was wondering why nobody seemed to have mentioned it so far. Or maybe they have and I missed that. Anyhow, maybe you can consider putting the faves in a note that is just synced along? Or something like this.
