i install BimlExpress but now not show "BimlExpress" in menu and not exists in "Extensions and update" list

I just installed the BI Developer extensions in VS 2015 Professional. After creating an Integration project I get an error when trying to add a BIML file: BIML features are currently unavailable while we wait for Varigence to provide an update to the BIMLEngine component.

Is there a function or program to take the Tabular Display Folders data from the old BIDS Helper on SSAS 2012 to be converted with the model into SSAS 2017?

I have visual studio 2017 with an instance that has SSDT installed. I am using SQL Server 2014. I installed BI Developer Extensions, many of which work perfectly and are great. However, when I try to run the Design Warning Scanner (the feature we are most interested in), I get the error message "Unable to find the directories containing Tasks and Data Flow Task components. Check the integrity of your installation." There are additional error message notifications from .net below, but it's in a messagebox so I can't copy them from the message. See the image below. We tried looking this error up in Google, and after a couple of hours of failed attempts to find a solution, we're hoping you can help us resolve this issue. We are very eager to use the Design Warning Scanner! Thank you so much for this great utility!!

In VS2017 SSDT with nothing else installed, Tabular Actions Editor doesn't launch. It is using the Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient rather than the AppLocal version. Consider changing it to use AppLocal.

I used to have an older version of BIDS Helper. Then I updated my Visual studio to version 2017 (15.5.6). In this new VS my Usage Based Optimization is not working for multidimensional cube. See the detailed error below. I found online that it must be because of missing BIDS file. So I have installed the latest version of BI Developer Extensions (2.1.1) from GitHub. I've got some other functions working. Like, for example, Edit Aggregations or Update All Estimated Counts. But the Aggregations tab remained unchanged. I don't get the additional toolbar buttons. And Usage Based Optimization keeps giving the same error. I do have additional toolbar buttons on other tabs of Cube Design window.

I installed the BI developer extension on my VS 2017 installation. It shows as installed

When I tried to install by executing the visx installer, I get an error. Here's the error and error log.

• Lots of space in C drive and lots of RAM left.

If this is not an issue, how can I resolve it?

It can take a very long time to render the HTML of the results of Dimension Health Check if there are lots of rows which are problems. Consider adding "and 10,000 others..." to the end if there are lots of problems.

Hi, I installed the BIDSHelper VS add-on for VS2015 and it started causing my VS to lock up every time I right-clicked in solution explorer. So, I attempted to remove it first using the extensions manager (which didn't remove it completely) then actually trying to hunt down all the different components and manually deleting them. There are apparently still some components left on my machine and they are still causing VS to screw up. This is the case even after I've done a complete reinstall of VS. Please advise exactly where you install all these components and how you register them with VS so I can truly remove your software from my computer.

Reverse engineering the Visual Studio project from Azure Analysis Services and running the roles report shows no members.

I am trying to sync definitions on a role playing dimension and I get an error when I do that. The main dimension from which the role playing dimension was created has the definitions synced using "Sync Definitions" and now I want to propagate the definitions to the role playing dimensions and that is when I get the error. I am not sure how I need to go about getting this done.

I just upgraded from SSDT 15.7.1 to 15.8.2 (using VS 2017), and the "Expression and Configuration Highlighter" isn't visible on the connection managers(that are using package configurations) in SSIS anymore. I am developing for SQL 2016.

BI Developer Extensions has support for basic Printer Friendly Dimension Usage reports against 1200 Tabular models. But it doesn't account for bi-directional relationships or any more advanced relationship types. For example, it would be nice to show m2m (infinity) symbols in the bus matrix version of the report.

Get the Non-Default Properties Report working with Tabular models

In VS2015 the "Calculation Properties" window allows to edit "Display Folder", "Associated Measure Group" and "Description". Please add the possibility to add/edit Annotations.
SMO class Microsoft.AnalysisServices.CalculationProperty has member Annotations, so adding it to Calculation Properties window should be possible.

Reinstalled Visual Studio and BIDS Helper on new machine. Sortable Package Properties Report is now missing from solution menu (it is still on project menu). Versions are 12.0.21005.1 of Visual Studio and 2014 Version 1.7.0.0 of BIDS Helper.

Cannot write data to a BlobColumn from a ScriptComponentProject when generating a package using BIML.

I have Visual Studio 2017 15.8.7 and SSDT 15.1.61808.07020. When navigating to a Tabular Model, I no longer see the option to configure Display Folders. This was working prior to the update of Visual Studio.

I'm trying to get up a build environment to do some work but until I can submit a pull we need to add a check to see if the connection manager scope is package and not project.

Hi, just installed v 2.2.0.0 and tried Smart Diff.

When attempting to use SmartDiff, I get:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Backedn, Version 15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

This happens if I use the Default VS DIff View, or a third party command line viewer, vsdiff.exe.

Any ETA on when this will be available?

I wanted to use VS 2017 and BIML Express doesn't support it either.

Run a package to completion. Then open the variables window and edit the expression on a variable using the BIDS Helper expression editor. Save the change and you get an error message:

When I try adding a folder and then save, I am getting a weird error like below.

Method not Found: System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1<System.String>Microsoft.AnalysisServices.BackEnd/SandboxTransaction.Commit() at BIDSHelper.SSAS.TabularDisplayFolderPlugin

Also, I am getting the same error when I try creating a new action. Is this some kind of a known issue?
