cs2's Issues

GMod Support

GMod support is planned for the REALLY distant future, #3 will be completed first.

Separation of configs by game

If you starred prior to this point, you'll likely be familiar with the previous layout of this repository. It had one branch per game I had a config for, however as time has gone on and as I've added more games (CSGO, TF2, gmod, and CS2) and have the intention to add even more (L4D, L4D2, HL1, HL2, P1, P2), having 4 (eventually 10) game-specific branches plus a main branch isn't very organized.

I've decided to split the configs into their own repositories for each respective game, so if you've starred to see the changes made to a specific game's config that isn't CS2, you'll want to watch one or more of the following repositories:

If you're only here for CS2, you won't have to change anything except perhaps outgoing refs if you're working off of this repo, as this repo is being renamed from bigfinfrank/cfg to bigfinfrank/cs2 to match the naming scheme for the other games' repos.

Also this removes one of the main barriers that's been keeping me from figuring out a good way to structure GitHub Wikis, so hopefully that means I'll actually have them implemented soon (at least for CS2)!

Cheers!

Feature parity between TF2 0.1.0-rcX and CSGO

A handful of new features were added to the TF2 config that aren't present in the CSGO config that TF2 0.1.0 is based on.

Relevant changelog entries from 0.1.0-rc1+tf2 are:

  • + Added an end-of-file trailing newline to .gitignore
  • + Added a second nag about reading this to the important box
  • + Added mastercomfig null canceling movement
  • + Added LWIN and RWIN keys to keyboard row 6 binds
  • + Added semicolons to the end of the lines in gaben.cfg
  • * Changed wording in the sv_contact warning
  • * Changed sv_contact to [email protected]
  • Changed net_graphheight to 375 so it fits cleanly on scoreboard
  • * Swapped +lookatweapon for +inspect which is the TF2 equivelant
  • * Changed wording at the top of CHANGELOG.md
  • * Changed wording in CONTRIBUTING.md
  • * Changed wording in CONTRIBUTORS.md
  • #7
  • Deleted config.cfg because there either isn't or I couldn't find a TF2 equivelant file

Additionally from 0.1.0-rc2+tf2:

  • * Fixed linting problem in README.md

And from 0.1.0-rc3+tf2

  • + Added hud_reloadscheme to section 9.0
  • * Fixed some inconsistent formatting with newlines between sections
  • Removed +/-defuse alias

And 0.1.0-rc4+tf2

  • + Added missing in-line documentation for a handful of convars/commands
  • + Added a handful of networking optimisations from various online sources and valve's developer docs
  • + Changed engine_no_foucs_sleep time to 1ms which should result in much higher fps and tickrates while tabbed out
  • Set the maximum number of dropped packets to 0 and increased the max uploaded file size to 64mb
  • + Added a handful of graphical/performance optimisations to section 2.1
  • + Added a variety of HUD tweaks including disabling achievements and speeding up animations
  • Added sv_motd_unload_on_dismissal "1"; to free up a tiny amount of RAM
  • + Added bugreporter_uploadasync "1"; to alleviate lag spikes when uploading bug reports
  • + Added "record fix; stop;" and snd_restart; to reset/refresh states section 9.1
  • Removed old 3.3.7 knife aliases

And 0.1.0-rc5+tf2

  • * Made launch options a Markdown list

And 0.1.0-rc7+tf2

  • * Fixed a grammar issue at the top of CHANGELOG.md

And 0.1.0-rc8+tf2

  • - Deleted CONTRIBUTING.md and CONTRIBUTORS.md, these are now on the special "main" branch
  • - Deleted ISSUE_TEMPLATE/ and PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE/ folders and their .keep files because they're only useful on the default GitHub branch

And 0.1.0-rc9+tf2

  • + Added clearinputs.cfg which executes automatically in section 9.1
  • + Added mp_respawnwavetime "0" to practice.cfg
  • Created finsfriends.cfg with all of our preferred server host convar settings
  • + Added intelligent cheatstart and cheatend aliases for toggling sv_cheats (credit: https://github.com/JarateKing/jarconfig/blob/master/cfg/binds/cheats.cfg)
  • + Added lists/ folder with 60percentrow1.cfg -> 60percentrow6.cfg, 80percentkeys.cfg, joystickbinds.cfg, mousekeybinds.cfg, and numberpadkeys.cfg that dynamically put current bindings in console
  • Changed sv_pure to "2" instead of "1" which is more secure but doesn't allow custom skins/models.
  • * Fixed extra newlines at the end of practice.cfg
  • * Updated launch options
  • - Removed note about settings.gg from README
  • - Removed contributing section in README because that's on the main branch's README

Some of these are changes that could have parity but don't line up perfectly, for example there could be an alias created called +inspect that simply calls +lookatweapon, as "lookatweapon" is a pretty bad name.

L4D2 Support

This is extremely far off, however Left 4 Dead 2 support is definitely planned for the future.

Clean up README and use GH wikis

The current README has gotten really cluttered with information. I'm going to both make it more concise and move a bunch of it to repo's GitHub wiki.
