ImportError: libpng15.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

A proper fix would be to rebuild irtk and python-irtk with the latest libraries.

A hack is to have two versions of libpng cohabit (matplotlib will use 1.6 and irtk 1.5), see the bug report in conda (conda/conda#1345).

you can force to install a specific version

conda install libpng=1.5.13

then you can go to https://binstar.org/anaconda/libpng/files and downlad the latest libpng, and copy the files that say 1.6 in linux-64-libpng-1.6.17-0/lib into anaconda/myanaconda/lib .

According to the github web page the easiest way to install python-irtk is through conda:

conda install -c kevin-keraudren python-irtk.

However conda cannot find any python-irtk package on any of the channels. Could you fix this issue?

After installing the library using the command: conda install -c kevin-keraudren python-irtk; as suggested in the installation guidelines, it seems that the conda module for irtk does not contain python files. I was expecting something like: ~/miniconda2/pkgs/irtk-1.0-0/lib/python2.7/site-packages/irtk to exist and to contain an init.py file, but I may be wrong. I believe that as a consequence, "import irtk" throws the exception "no module named irtk".

I have created a conda environment only for this module and have checked that the module and its dependencies (vtk, tbb and libpng) are installed. I also tried to import vtk and other python libraries that I installed later with no problem.

I have tried to manually download the python files from the git repository and put them in the conda environment. This produces the exception: "ImportError: libvtkHybrid.so.5.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory."

Anyhow, the project is nice :).

I have ubuntu 16.04. I tried to install python-irtk using conda in both python2.7 and python3.5. But no success. Do I use a wrong version of conda?
I get the following error when I install with conda version Anaconda2-5.1.0-Linux-x86_64 (python 2.7):
./conda install -c kevin-keraudren python-irtk
