sqldev-update-center's Introduction

sqldev-update-center

This site is provided by me as an example of an update center and a public service to host the example extensions. It is not provided or supported by Oracle.

An update center for SQL developer public open source extensions found at the oracle/oracle-db-examples/sqldeveloper repository.

NOTE: This site may also include extension examples from the local bjeffrie/oracle-db-examples/sqldeveloper repository.

You can add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjeffrie/sqldev-update-center/master/update-center.xml as an update center in SQL Developer or download this repository and use the install from local file option.

  • 2020/08/26: Added ConnectionHelper example
  • 2020/08/31: Add alternate update center url
  • 2020/09/01: Remove cdn URL masking. We do not need content-type & direct (raw) access works fine.
  • 2020/10/06: Added ConnectionHelper 20.1.1 update (allow dots in sid/svc name)

sqldev-update-center's Issues

Unwanted changes of SQL-Devs settings

Hi

I use SQL Dev 21.4 on Windows 10

I added https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjeffrie/sqldev-update-center/master/update-center.xml to the update center and installed "Dependency Example". it installed well, I restarted SQL Dev and saw that

  • many of my Connections are lost (the JSON got the current date but shows only 50% of connections I had before..)
  • the list of "update center" shows only the three previous existing "centers", the previous defined center is not displayed.
  • (maybe other things changed too??)

I suppose that both things are not indented?

Arrow with strange orientation

I tried it with SQL Dev. 21.4 and a table which has only one dependency. The arrowhead seem to be wrong when starting and turns weird around when moving the areas - see screencast in attachment.
Bug or Feature?

Offline update

Hi, I'm working with a client where your "submit connection requests from outside of SQL Developer" is exactly what we need (thanks!), however, due to internal policy, their SQL Developer cannot connect to the "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjeffrie/sqldev-update-center/master/update-center.xml"

What do you suggest for installing the code offline, please? (I did attempt to download & unzip into the SQL Developer folder structure, however, it didnt work- clearly something needs registering somewhere)
Thanks

Failed to import the zip file

Downloaded from GitHub but got this error when importing into SQL Developer v21.4.2.018

Zip file sqldev-update-center-master.zip does not contain a bundle manifest in META-INF/bundle.xml
