The module-level functions like create_zone, get_zones, etc. are expecting "self" as an argument even though they are not class methods.

I've found two identical repositories and don't know what exact repository I could use without violating the license.

If a user clones the package to a directory other than the default, the installation fails. It is looking for a directory named "../slick53" which will not exist. This also means that the installation fails using pip, which uses /tmp/ folders.

Recommended fix is to place package one level deeper.

$ git clone git://github.com/bluepines/slick53.git random

Doing a simple

zone= route53.get_zone('foo.com')
for record in zone.get_records():
print record

Many of the A records contain this message:
