plugin with id 'tomcat' not found in subprojects about gradle-tomcat-plugin HOT 3 CLOSED

Hhmmm, this doesn't necessarily look wrong to me. IMHO this issue is not caused by the plugin. I'd try the following things though but I don't think that they will fix it:

• Apply the plugin after the buildscript declaration.
• Why do you declare a variable tomcatPluginVersion if there's only one place that you use it?

Out of curiosity: Do you really have multiple web-based subprojects?
