Installation steps (WIP)

Install dependencies

sudo apt install -y git swig3.0 python-pyaudio python3-pyaudio libatlas-base-dev libportaudio0 libportaudio2 libportaudiocpp0 portaudio19-dev virtualenv

Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/bodiroga/mayordomo-python-client.git cd mayordomo-python-client

Create a virtual environment and make use of it

virtualenv env source env/bin/activate

Install python dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

Make the speech stop keywords translatable

The current stop keywords are fixed and hardcoded (por favor|please|mesedez), but we need to provide a mechanism to make then dynamically translatable.

Move snowboy files to its own folder

Google Cloud Speech provider doesn't work well in the Raspberry Pi 3

In the Raspberry Pi 3 the audio is not processed correctly if you don't wait 2-3 seconds.

It needs further investigation.

Remove external dependecies from language_handler

'Language Handler' should not have any dependency on external modules (google_cloud_speech_handler). Proposed solution:

Create a 'subscribe_to_language_change()' function that external modules could use to subscribe to changes.
Adapt all modules to use the subscribe function.
Call all the subscribers in the set_language() function.
