js-must-watch's Issues

It should be "must-watch", not "must watch"

The hyphen is important to make it clearer, now it sounds is this is about videos that JavaScript must watch, which is very confusing.

I realize this is probably a very minor point to many people, and might come off as just sounding annoying and nit-picky. I honestly believe that if the purpose with the writing is to communicate with humans, it's worth being as clear possible even with minute details.

Thanks for putting this together, of course!

May I copy?

Hey,

Im compiling a little list of my own(to be found here), and would like to incorporate a few of the resources you point to into it. Is that okay for you?

Cheers

Validate pull requests with Travis

Hello, I wrote a tool that can validate README links (valid URLs, not duplicate). It can be run when someone submits a pull request.

Year order

Wouldn't it make more sense to order years descending?

Looking for maintainer

Responsibilities:

  1. Add latest great talks about javascript
  2. Review PRs and review their talks

The video at the top of your list is WAT?!?

Hello,

First what a wonderful list of experts compiled here. But there is a glaring oversight, where I strongly feel that one should be removed.

Are you familiar with ALL the works of Gary Bernhardt?
By far his position is consistantly anti-javascript, or should I say "YavaScript".

Although this is not always clear, especially in his Birth & Death of Javascript, where the primary content of his talk is centered around absurdism and less about science. It is easy to be interpreted as "just a joke", while actually it is a passive-aggressive low jab at the language.

Second, have you read his twitter stream? If you do, you might find him consistently bashing the language in a way - that is "destructive" not constructive to JS (go figure).

So the first of two points is that 1) it is a tragedy that Gary Bernhardt is listed here with other luminaries as Zakas and Crockford. My perception is that he may not even know the language after watching WAT, where he glosses over many important details to highlight negatives of the language, and to promote his own brand of absurdism. Anyone can open dev tools and find a way to insert garbage into JS for which it will correctly spit that garbage back out. Which are the heart of his examples given - for which I would counter proves nothing but 'garbage-in-garbage-out'.

  1. he is listed at the top of the list! Really? Truly? Even should you decide to not remove him for reasons that all languages need an absurd contributor (which I would dispute in the name of science). How can you possible rationalize that he is at the top?

Is it because the talk is from 2035?
What a shame for JS.

Please remove the listing.
For people who know it is a travesty.

Thanks.

Benefits of using browserify

Hi guys,

I gave a talk at JSFest in 2014. Here is a screencast which depicts some benefits of using browserify:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp377p-NSFc - 20 minutes.

So far it received positive feedback from the community. Would absolutely love to know what you think about it. And hopefully if you like it you could add it to the list?

PS: Browserify is a project from @substack which allows to use commonjs modules in the browser
