I am actually doing something similar, well, grabbing marching band scores from competition suite, and I have come across the official competition suite api that includes all the scores, including the captions. The only downside is that the scores are not always on the api, and I've never been able to grab all the competitions from the api.

Now, there is a small problem. Sometimes the competitions / scores aren't posted to this api, so you'll have to use the bridge api with the web scraping as a backup for when the api doesn't return the scores.

Oh, and by the way, for the bridge api, you can just send the headers

to get the result in json format (no need for the callback parameter).

(I might think about making my script for grabbing scores from competition suite public...)
