DNS queries currently block the main thread, and can cause latency problems. It might be better to use libevent / libev / libuv / etc. to handle DNS resolution instead.

Subdirectory Makefiles use variables exported by the root, so it's impossible to run bmake in a subdirectory. Relevant variables and dependencies should be declared in the subdirectory Makefiles instead.

It might be useful to automatically resolve hostnames in listen-hosts directives, instead of only accepting IPv4 addresses. Of course, these would only be resolved at startup since they are embedded in the BPF.

reflectd currently has a tiny cobbled-together suite of unit tests and rudimentary load test written in Python. It would be nice to have a full integration test suite for end-to-end testing against corner cases, from corrupted packets to SYN floods. scapy seems like a good candidate for a tool to write the tests in.
