What is ControlUWP?

It’s not a secret that the Windows 10 Settings app is not everyone’s cup of tea. The modern version of the settings control is limited and missing a majority of options you can access in the classic control panel. The new settings app is gigantic, a monster of a GUI with a lot of wasted space, hard to navigate and scattered and unintuitive to the end and many functions are simply ugly integrated.

ControlUWP app doesn't replace (currently) the native Windows 10 settings panel but tries to bring at least a little order into it. It bundles the most important locations and recommended settings in one place and you can open and execute many of them in bulk.

After a few weeks of experimentation work (sense and nonsense of such an application) around the app and concept, I decided to continue this project.

ControlUWP is fully portable but requires .NET Core Runtime 3.1

Currently it is not shipped by default on Windows 10 (and it will never be according to Microsofts .NET Team) and I dont want to publish ControlUWP as self-contained (produces an application that includes the .NET Core runtime and libraries, and all its dependencies), as this increases the size drastically.

control-uwp's Issues

[Problem Report] Tweaks - Disable Services

Disabling the Connected Devices Platform service on Windows 10 2004 version 19041.508 causes the Settings -> System to crash. All other Windows Settings seem to work fine. I've been able to reproduce this on 2 different PCs.

The project requires user input

When I try to build this on my PC, it fails to load, and returns the error "The project requires user input." How do I fix this?

[Info] Little help from Belim

Hi belim,

I have contact you on twitter yesterday and it seems here on github doesn't have a DM button just issue, so, here's what I want ask you.

I have been using your app (all of them, they are really good) and I want build some app like these one here control-uwp , I don't know if you already hear about ghost spectre Images of windows 10, they have a ghost toolbox where we can apply tweaks, download stuff, install things and modify system settings. I was thinking in create something like this but with something that has a few options like your tools does, for privacy & security.

I'm trying to create a script using cmd , and if you could help me build the app will be really awesome
Here's a pic of the main menu for you see a example
GhostToolbox-MainMenu

As you can see, has a lot of options and the user can do a lot things, if you could help , I will appreciate a lot.

Keep up the good work, belim

[Feature Request] Search Bar

Thanks for this great little tool!
Only thing I'm missing is a search bar to be able to find what you're looking for even quicker.
Are you planing to implement a search bar in the the near future?

Reenable 'permanently disable' options

This is more a question rather than an issue, but I've used the tool to make a few changes which I believe changed Group Policy settings that I don't know how to re-edit to re-enable them. Namely, disable Windows Updates permanently, and one setting that made my login screen not have any background (just a solid color). When I go into Windows Settings to edit either of these, they both say the settings are disabled due to a Group Policy - "*Some settings are managed by you organization" in yellow text at the top. Is there a way to override this or rollback the tool's changes for these? The Windows update one I believe has interfered with my ability to download apps from the Microsoft Store or to Login to my Xbox Game Pass app. Thank you!

Sound options

Hey there, I combed through this app but I don't see any options for Sound or the ability to open the classic Sound Control Panel ( control mmsys.cpl ), can this be added if it's not already in there?

Question

Could I please help with programming in C #

Modules (Under Development)

Just tried to run Ver 0.20.0 on a brand new Win10 laptop. The "Microsoft Edge" and "Tweaks" modules came up as "Under Development" with no selections available. I'm assuming this is expected as the modules were pulled for further development and will be released later? If someone could confirm that I would be most appreciative and will continue to check for future releases. Thanks.
