Adobe are now providing information about available flash plugin downloads in json format here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/webservices/json
The server results can be narrowed down with query terms, and the json can easily be parsed with the jq utility. (jq is already a dependency of the bunsen-conky package.)

Examples:

1. See the whole thing, formatted for readability: curl -s "https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/webservices/json/" | jq '.'

2. Linux, Chrome (PPAPI), 64-bit, get available version number: curl -s "https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/webservices/json/?platform_type=Linux&platform_arch=x86-64&browser_dist=Chrome" | jq -r '.[0].Version'

3. Same options, get download URL: curl -s "https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/webservices/json/?platform_type=Linux&platform_arch=x86-64&browser_dist=Chrome" | jq -r '.[0].download_url'

Substitute x86-32 for 32-bit architecture.
NPAPI downloads are also available, but at this late stage in Flash's life cycle it might not be worth the effort thinking about them.

I propose rewriting update-bunsen-pepperflash using this; get-adobe-flashver.py would be unnecessary, and the data would be more reliable.
