nanogenmo's Issues

Artifacts show up even when they didn't hang out

Later that week, Eva asked Alex if they were free, but Alex had other plans.

alex (2011-01-12): i had a great time! repeat soon?
l82 (2011-01-12): Looking forward to it i can do this weekend.

Chapter Nav

investigate back button / alternatives to iframes

Fix prologue (capitalization, some wrongly ranked attributes)

Over time, Alex realized that She was a typical person with a reserved manner. Eva seemed well versed in romantic relationships and wanted something casual. Later that week, Eva asked Alex if they were free, but Alex never responded to Eva's message.

Curate relationships to go on static site

How many generated relationships are we going to upload? 10? 15? 20?

My vote is to stick with a smaller number that people are more likely to click thru and have an "ending", maybe with a hardcoded line of prose (eg. "They never saw each other again... Alex kept looking for the one, but our story ends here. Read about how this narrative was built here. Thank you for reading.") on the last page.

Things that we should showcase:

  • A few longish relationships
  • a few Alex chapters
  • stupid text conversations
  • varieties of hobbies, conflicts
  • easter egg (Meteor?)
  • add more below
  1. A short chapter (4.html elizabeth, needs patch remove respond with -1)
  2. Another short chapter (9.html david, escalator!)
  3. A short chapter where someone is rejected (alex rejects bess, also james rejects alex)
  4. Ended at courting (GLORIA)
  5. Ended at courting (5.html Tracey, lots of good libido and open interactions. Needs patch for a_possess). Good reflection, too.
  6. Ended at dating (temporarily 34, 51, 56*)
  7. Ended at dating
  8. Ended at committed because of death (62.html)
  9. Ended at committed because of breakup (26.html is decent)
  10. ^^

Better Sex

right now sex is only encoded as 2 possible values (kinky vs boring).

Matthew asked Alex to have kinky sex. Alex generally preferred more adventurous sex, but agreed anyway.

It would be cool to have a more sophisticated tracery grammar that can take into account

  • kinkiness level of sex experience proposed by character A [0-1]
  • enthusiasm response of character B [0-1]
  • overall goodness of experience [0-1]

First date prologue and hobby prologues

Fixed grammar/translated to tracery, but didn't make sense to include commitment and experience prose when the prologue comes after they start dating. If we want to communicate commit and exp, perhaps this would go well in a firstdate_reflection. Also want to communicate what hobbies the two like earlier so that hobby events narrated later have more context.

Artifacts: enthusiasm?

Shelby ignores Alex's text
==> but the next day:
Shelby sends Alex an enthusiastic message

Ignoring text is actually Shelby rejecting Alex asking to do something, so we have a few ways of actually dealing with this.

interest 1 res

interest = 1?? Lamont with confidence 0.94, interest 1 initiates contact.

Alex with interest 1 responds with -0.43 enthusiasm.

Relationship failed to advance to the courting stage.

Further prose texture

  • util rank language to reflect on character props (i.e. romanticism --> under the pregnant of the newly gibbous moon)
  • recurring symbolism/themes (the fullness of the moon could reflect something in general)

Other experience events better integration

Sharon fell asleep sometimes without washing up first
Alex liked to go shopping for the latest trendy fashions

Sentences like these seem random with no transition in or out. Consider adding "on her off days..." "it really bothered Alex that..." phrases to give it more context and padding.

better fight texture

They fought because Matthew was too mature for their age.

many things can be inlcuded in fight :(

date refusal is weird

Maybe just more color:

"Matthew invited Alex to go on an exciting date. Alex refused."

Fight aborted shows up as first fight, right after they exchange nubmers

Alex was struck by Stanley's lithe features. Alex smiled boldly. Stanley returned a flirtatious glance. They exchanged several friendly words, before agreeing to meet again sometime soon. Stanley left with Alex's phone number.

One day, Stanley felt bothered that perhaps Alex was too insecure. Stanley let the thought fade away.
