I really want to be able to control stuff more easily by actually being able to
move fast enough to make bentley bear escape deadly monsters on crystal castles
and to be able to complete levels in a matter of seconds
as shown on this video.

I cannot survive because the classic controller is generally way too sensitive

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Place the attached zip file in the WiiMame artwork folder.
4. Select the DigDug ROM in WiiMame. Note that this happens with other layouts
and other roms.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the artwork with the game displayed in the middle. What I see
instead is only the game with diagonal lines across it. I have noticed that if
I make the png file smaller that it looks better, but I am having trouble
having it fit right.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.6 version of the product. CIOS I think the Wii OS is called.

Can you please updated or downgrade SDL Mame Wii 0.5 into somthing like
MAME Plus Plus! Kaillera 0.119 for the Wii! Because most roms that decrypt and
decode don't work at all!! (The Arcade game would just send you back to the
Homebrew loader after it's done decrypting and decoding)
Us SDL Mame Wii fans would really appreciated if you update SDL Mame Wii App
more often.. [I'm just saying... Who doesn't want to play Battletoads Arcade or
Marvels vs Capcom Arcade in the wii?) [Oh yeah.. Can you add Kaillera for the
wii also!]

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Any game with an overlay such as bzone, but problem is in all games such as
asteroids deluxe
2.Instead of 0 to 1 with 1 being brightest. Colors are calculated with 1 to 0 1
being the darkest.
3.Changing the numbers in the .lay file can workarounds
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
bzone should be top red, bottom green. Instead it is top cyan (G+B), bottom
magenta (R+B)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
.5 any.
Please provide any additional information below.
In bzone.lay file for artwork:
This is the original that results in cyan magenta color overlay
<element name="overlay">
<rect>
<bounds left="0" top="0" right="1068" bottom="160" />
<color red="1.0" green="0.125" blue="0.125" />
</rect>
<rect>
<bounds left="0" top="160" right="1068" bottom="801" />
<color red="0.125" green="1.0" blue="0.125" />
</rect>
</element>
If you change the numbers to this, the overlay colors displays as they should
be red/green:
</element>
<element name="overlay">
<rect>
<bounds left="0" top="0" right="1068" bottom="160" />
<color red="0.125" green="1.0" blue="1.0" />
</rect>
<rect>
<bounds left="0" top="160" right="1068" bottom="801" />
<color red="1.0" green="0.125" blue="1.0" />
</rect>
</element>
Therefore I suspect that the values are reversed with 1.0 being off/dark and
0.0 being on/bright for each color channel or something like that.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
i have a 4.3 wii
Please provide any additional information below.
for whatever reason im not able to get mame in homebrew to find any of the rom
games i have in the correct folder path for the newer version of the program
for which there has already been another post that was made about this that has
yet to been solved
https://code.google.com/p/sdl-mame-wii/issues/detail?id=29
but the older one that i tried finds them all just fine (except gauntlet
legends but that game is basically just a legend at this point , and i also
have the kinst problem too as stated here
https://code.google.com/p/sdl-mame-wii/issues/detail?id=27)
the only difference i can notice between the working vs the non-working
versions is that the new one's mame folder that goes in the apps folder is
named "sdlmamewii" instead of just "mame" that the older version is , i tried
renaming them to just "mame" but they were still incapable of finding any games
, which i would assume is shity cause v0.4 can't seem to run most of the games
i've tested very well and i assume the later versions will be able to run them
better.....

"cannot find roms" and how i should go read the config.txt. I even tried
putting a roms folder in the root /mame folder/ apps folder/ and in the
folder with where the mame dol is located. No matter where put the roms at
it give me the same error. I also tried unzipping the roms even tho the
guides say not to just in case. but yea i tried ziped and unziped. Not sure
what else could be the problem. I also tried looking at guides. all the
guide on the net are extremely old and refer to folder and files and
locations that mame wii no longer uses. I even posted in a forum called
wiihack.com and the answer i got is "everybody is having similar issue". I
posted this here cause i assume this is a glitch loading roms and not an
error on my part since i believe i have tried everything

I used this emu yesterday and after about 10mins of play it was ok. Today the
only thing I did that I think was different was reconfigure the emulators
general controls in the GUI. It didn't crash on the previous build (with the
same games like final fight, altered beast, golden axe etc) but now the emu
seems to crash quite often.

I deleted all my previous files and configs from the previous release (apart

Hello Toad King! :)
As you already know, some roms like "mpang", "dstlk", "nwarr", etc fail to load
correctly because of memory problems... :(
In "errors.txt" messages like this one appear:
Failed to allocate 16777216 bytes (src/emu/drawgfx.c:175)
I understand that this happens because of the memory limitations of the Wii:
there are only 19MB available for applications in the MEM1 (1T-SRAM) area.
But aren't you forgetting about the 64MB of memory in the MEM2 (GDDR3 RAM)
area? ;)
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Memory_Map
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Hardware/Main_Memory
Quoting...
"During normal operation, IOS reserves the upper 12-16MB of MEM2 for its own
use; the rest can freely be used for code or data by running PPC code."
So, isn't there a way to take advantage of that extra available memory?
And since the errors occur in "drawgfx.c" I guess it could even be used to
store graphics data! :P
Could this be done? ;)

I'm not sure if this is an issue or simply that I have no idea what I'm doing.
I promise I've done the requisite googling and have read everything in the Docs
folder included with the distribution; I can't find an adequare answer either
way. The only material I can find on USB drives is the WiiBrew entry for
SDLMAME Wii, which (like almost every other reference I found via google for
'sdlmame wii usb') says that USB drive support is enabled by running the app
from the USB drive in question. That doesn't make sense to me; I see no way to
do so (the only way I can find to run homebrew on the Wii is via the Homebrew
Channel, which is as far as I can tell limited to the SD card).
For sake of comparison, I've got the FCE Ultra GX (NES) type emulators
available through Homebrew Browser working perfectly; I suppose I sort of
assumed that the MAME emulator would have a similar browse-to-device function.
Is that assumption just wrong, or am I completely missing the proper
post-download methodology to get this thing up and running?
Any help, including "here, read this, stupid" with an appropriate link, would
be appreciated.

I wonder if it's the artwork is huge (from my PC version) and should be
scaled before or while loading?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I configure the controls for Player 2 on my second joystick.
2. After configuring, when Player 1 ends his/her turn, the controls for Player
2 will not work, only his/her player start button works.
3. Instead, Player 1's joystick controls all of Player 2's actions.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I want the player with the second controller to play as Player 2, but instead the inputs are read by the first controller.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MAME Wii Version 1.0
Please provide any additional information below.
Nothing else I can add, just want to see if there is a way to play 2 Player alternating games such as Shinobi on MAME Wii.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the new SDL Mame wii 1.0 with a non-TR Wiimote with Nunchuck attached
2. Run any of our standard roms, example could be Galagy, hit "home" with your
Wiimote while in either the Mame front loader screen or after going into a Rom,
for example Galagy. While running rom, hit Home / Input this Game / P1 Left /
and attempt to push the Nunchuck left to be it be detected as a programmable
movement. Wii Mame DOES NOT detect the Nunchucks movements. Unsure how to work
around this ? Have tried hitting the Nunchucks C and Z key to try to get Sdl
Wii Mame to detect some kind of Nunchuck movement but no dice.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Being able to map Nunchuck movements to Mame programmable movements.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SDL Mame 1.0 by Toadking running on Wii OS 4.1u
Please provide any additional information below.
Gamecube controller works perfectly, but we better get full-on Wiimote support
with Nunchuck working for newer Wii's that don't have Gamecube controller
support, for the entire community :) A joystick (Nunchuck) with a Wiimote would
be amazing, and an easy way to enjoy Mame games on the Wii. It should be noted
that we all owe Toadking a beer for his hardwork as this SDL Wii Mame setup, is
freeken perfect! Zero long waits to load standard roms and solid support for
most popular roms.
