PAC3


PAC3 gives you the ability to personalize your player model's look by placing objects and effects on yourself. You can go from putting just a hat on your head to creating an entire new player model. PAC works on any entity and can also be used as a way to make custom weapons and npcs for your gamemode easily.

You can wear your outfit on any server with PAC3 and everyone should be able to see it on you as long as they have the content you used.

OGGs no longer download

No one can use OGG's as the download fails for some reason, it does it for everyone, not one specific person.

Spawnmenu

When trying to select a model from the spawnmenu, the item you click on spawns in the world and not in PAC.

Errors!

Everytime I load something, it never shows up, and it creates errors. Here is what it says in the console:

Effects problem

can't remove effects when I click remove they still stay.

External VGUI Elements mess up editor

If you have an external VGUI element active at all (a good example is Wire Sound Browser), it messes up your hitpos and lets you use any weapon while in the editor. It gets really annoying really fast most of the time.

No bones

I believe my SVN updated PAC3 recently, and since then all of my older models have large eyes (around 3x larger, they use the normal PAC3 Sphere with a custom texture) and no longer have bones. They still work, but when making a Foxy the Pirate Fox (Five nights at Freddys) player model no bones exist to bind anything to. WebAudio Errors / oggs don't work

Having an issue with playing OGG sounds, I enabled the debug mode and proceeded to try to play a OGG sound. It printed a few errors like this:

[WebAudio] TypeError: Cannot call method 'play' of undefined�[WebAudio] TypeError: Cannot call method 'play' of undefined�[PAC3] Your part ogg has been applied.

Although others can hear the sounds, but I cannot.

PAC not showing for other players

Recenty I created a very nice pac, Took me most of the day, When I went onto a server (metaconstruct) and wore the pac people claimed they couldent see me and no matter what they or I did they still couldent see me when i was wearing this pac. apon wearing other pacs they could see me but not when i wore this pac. Iv tried going to diffrent server with no avail Ive tried moveing things around and changeing settings to no avail Ive tried !fix pac, no luck and ive tried restaring gmod. nothing has worked and im very proud of this pac and i dont really want to redo it.

Camera issues with pac_restrictions

No matter what model it is or what it's parented too, if pac_restrictions is set to 1 and you try and use a clip on this model, the camera will lock in to the origin of the clipped part and the camera cannot be moved in any direction. pac_restrictions is a must for any RP server, but not having the use of the clipping tool is quite annoying. Also, is there any way to make the restricted camera not be affected by the player entity? This would be useful because it is impossible to pac when someone comes up REALLY close to you when you're trying to edit.

EDIT: The same thing happens with the "Material" part as well.

Pac3 Server "Say" event error

A server that I help run is having a problem with the "Say" event, as it will not work under any circumstance. We've tried re-installing the mod and doing numerous restarts, but we cannot figure out why it wont work. it doesnt give any console errors, it just refuses to work.

Is there any fix to this?

HL2RP Load Error

Hey, CapsAdmin. I'm an Operator on a HL2RP server and I suggested Pac3 to the owner. He added it and we made our models. The next day when we came back, it loaded our models but it made us all black guys holding our hands out.. We really need you to fix it. We made complex models but can't use them. Black screen when clicking effect

Not sure if it's my settings, or if it's PAC messing with me.

When I add an effect to my group it works fine, however if I add it to a lampshade like in the picture and click on it, the screen goes black.
I will then have to close the editor and reopen it again.

Viewmodel not working

Dear CapsAdmin
6 July 2014 i tryed to edit my first person in PAC 3
But any model which i add didn't showing up.Only thing which i see is my... Firstperson.
Then i tryed example one(Engineer wrench),but it's didn't work either.

Cannot make any requests from null

Hi.

Garry's Mod using Chrome engine to download file. So. When Downloading OGG in console displayed [PAC] XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://my IP/patch.ogg. Cannot make any requests from null.
Another, he say ERROR 101 (Switching Protocols, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes#1xx_Informational )

listen server issues (was: I cant see someone for example, as Kirby in Pac3)

I was with a friend, we are wearing the Kirby Pac3, but we see eachother normal, for me i see myself Kirby, but i see my friend normal, anithing to fix?

When i wear the south park example, my camera goes crazy on first person
Doesnt stop shaking up and down and is annoying me, any fix? + it was on listen server, not dedicated

Unable to Hear Custom Sound

I created a folder in the sound directory to where it shows up in the Wiremod sound browser. Then I put my WAV sound file in my folder in the sound directory and when I click 'Play' in Wiremod's sound browser, it doesn't play. Every other sound file in the game works. Just not mine.

What did I do wrong?

^ 'mp' is the folder I created and 'beam' is the WAV file I put in the folder. When I select it and click 'Play', it doesn't play.

Can't wear pac I made

Got a pretty strange thing.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time making a big (well for me it's big) pac but eventually I found out that I can't wear it on. Neither MP nor SP. Tried multiple servers

In editor everything works perfectly but as I said, it doesn't want to wear it on. I don't know if there're any restrictions in PAC3 (like max amount of props cause my pac got a lot of them) or is it some other problem I faced. I managed to put my pac on only after I deleted ~50% of all props and things from it. I got no idea what can cause such problem and how to fix it

Just hope it's fixable and my work wasn't useless

Editor frame width not resizable; contents get cut off

Right now the editor frame's width is a static 240, which leads to part names getting cut off when you have parts 6 layers deep (ie. a part with great-great-great-grandparents, if you will). The frame should probably either be resizable, have a larger default width, grow as the items within it necessitate it, or get its width from eg. 0.2*ScrW().

Camera jittering with a custom size player.

I just now updated pac, and I don't know if this is because I was testing it on a listen server or not, but when using a pac with a smaller player size (mine is 41% but any size does this), the camera jitters up and down very annoyingly. It continues to do this even after setting the player entity to 100% size and reapplying the parts. Clearing the parts stops the jittering, but if you want to wear a pac, it has to be loaded with a 100% playersize.

Weapons swing while in editor

I've only had this happen with the Github version and so have others. When you drag to move the camera sometimes, your weapon will swing but then if you keep moving your camera, it'll keep doing it everytime you move your camera. Closing and reopening the editor doesn't fix this. I have found ways to temp fix it while you're editing but other then that, it's been going on for a month or so.

Pac outfit does not clear

I wanted to take off my current pac3 model but it would not let me do so. I clear it and my PAC outfit stays on even when the outfit menu "whatever you call it" does not go away. Here is a screenshot.

pac models are darker and weird on my screen only

For some reason on my screen all props on pac are much darker than they are on everyone elses. Problems that arise from this include: Im not able to see what my pac actualy looks like and can sometimes butcher color shading and it will look good on my screen but terrible on other, everyone elses pac look wierd and i cant see how good they actualy look, In one case there was somebody with a pac that had a large orb surrounding them that was pitch black but on everyone else's screens he look like the sun and i didnt know that so i punished him on a server im admin on bcuz i thought his pac was just a mingey blinding pac but was punished by higher admin because i had just punished somebody who didnt actualy do anything wrong (on everyone elses screens atleast)

P.S. yes my brightness is all the way up and i have the video options on gmod to the best possible but still my pac brightness is messed up

Proxy function owner_eye_angle_pitch() always outputs 0.5

While owner_eye_angle_yaw() correctly outputs values between 0 and 1, owner_eye_angle_pitch() always outputs 0.5.
I set up an arrow as a demonstration:

PAC3 Crashing issue

Pac3 makes Gmod crash when i mouse over the 'my outfit' part and anything in that list.

Situation is most likely caused because of the system specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.36 (~2.4) GHz
RAM: 1.5 GB
GPU: ATI Radeon 9250 graphics card with 128 MB Memory
OS: Win7 Ultimate & WinXP SP3 (not in use, but listing it anyway)

Mind if you make it a little more adoptable to these settings? Thank you.

Problem seeing models on PAC3

So, me and my friend are having a problem on pac3 that we can't see the custom models/effects from a certain distance away from the player

Animation playback

Right now animations resume from where they left off when the event they're activated by 's time runs out and that event is activated again. There should be an option to start animations from the start each time they're activated. This could be useful for say, button pressing animations.

Ogg won't play for the person wearing the pac

Unless a person wearing their pac is viewing themselves through a camera or the pac editor, they can't hear any sounds the pac is making. It seems that the sound works one time after applying the parts, but anytime after that won't be heard unless a camera is used.

PAC3 Issue: Models spawning as world props.

Oi there.

I believe everyone else is having this issue with the lastest PAC update, but whenever I select a model to replace the default model, it spawns in as a world model as if I didn't have PAC open or anything.

I copied and pasted the model name and it did get around it sort-of, but for my friends on the server that I run on, it doesn't do jack shit.
If anyone can help me out on why this issue is a thing or something like that, reply if you can.

PAC3 Model spawining issue

I've had this issue for a while I try to spawn a model and it either spawns as a world prop or dosent spawn at all I tried copying to clipboard and pasting but when I do that it says "error" as the name of the model and it stays default

On non-steam Garry's Mod custom content crash client

Hi, i joined on server ,where are you (RoboDerpy), i seen, he available for Non-Steam, but, Custom Content in PAC3 crash the client (also, string "downloading 0%" never hidden, BUT Non-Client DOWNLOADED the model, and client redownloading file, and so on ad infinitum while he not crahed (NGINX logs) ). I too have a server what available for Non-Steam players. Pirate's say, what he's games are crash, every i join on server. "Disable PAC3" not helping. There are two way to fix: Set "HTTP Server timeout", or find an other way to download custom content (PlayX work exellent on Non-Steam Clients).

PAC3 Gamemode Restriction

I've installed PAC3 on a DarkRP server to be used by Admins for events and such.

I've come into a issue lately though, players are spawning with player models that aren't used by their respective job.

I have the hook in lua/autorun/server/ for PrePACConfigApply. I also added the hook to disable the editor from being opened as well.

It keeps the player model as well even if the person were to change jobs.

The few users that have had this issue were banned from using it, although it still applies the model.

Models not changing in DarkRP.

I have set up a DarkRP server using PAC3, but whenever someone changes their model it is visible only to them, and nobody else. Is there any way to fix this?

PACs Randomly Unwearing and Other Entity PACs Not Appearing

I know I've already told CapsAdmin about this, but I'm bringing this onto here so maybe he could get some help or someone else could collaborate to figure this out.

Ever since several large PAC updates and a Garry's Mod update or two in early 2014 (Between January and March 2014 I believe), there have been two persisting problems I've noticed that used to never be a problem before:

1: Randomly Unwearing PACs at random times for random clients. This has been a problem I've noticed among every person on our server, and tested this out on Metastruct as well at one point in time with some friends. At random times, for random players, certain peoples PACs vanishe and they just see me as a normal player model, or vice versa. It's like PACs forget they are supposed to be worn to some people, and they just vanish. Sometimes they don't autoload either when I join in the server, and sometimes I have to ask people to rewear there's because I know they always wear them. The problem I have with this is it happens so randomly, and when it happens to me, I do not know, as the PAC never vanishes on my screen since it's clientside.

2: Before these updates, when you PAC'd another entity such as an NPC or a Vehicle, all players could see the PAC on them, even if you were across the map. What's different now is if I PAC a car, and I am not in someones line of sight at the same time as the vehicle, the Vehicle appears to have no PACd parts on it.

ENT:AttachPACPart() doesn't work properly when attached to DModelPanel.Entity

When attaching a pac part to a DModelPanels entity, the outfit does not appear on the entity without;

And then, with this code the part can be seen, but will be present on any other visible DModelPanels with the same code.

Reflection Rendering options breaks player effects.

So apparently, enabling reflections by going to options>rendering>draw in reflections causes some issues. While it is enabled any effects done to the player with parts like an entity or bone only shows if you're close the person who is wearing the PAC. If you get far away from said person, their normal player renders and no PAC effects are displayed while pac parts are still visible on them. It is unrelated to PAC draw distance. I think it also does something similar with oggs, making them not work if your not in that same radius. but I am yet to test this.

player size flickering in singleplayer

there is a problem with my model when I ether jump or primary/secondary attack where it will shrink to default size. It no matter what size it is, If its not default size It just glitches back to default for a split second.

Ban Bypass with a nickname consisting of only letters.

Should be a simple fix, I might see if I can fix it myself, but basically if someone has a name comprised of nothing but numbers it doesn't save to the pac_bans.txt

bans[ply:Nick():lower():gsub("%A", "")] = ply:SteamID()
Maybe add at least one character to the string to ensure the value is written? Currently I have fixed this by changing the above code snippet too
bans["Name: "..ply:Nick():lower():gsub("%A", "")] = ply:SteamID()
It saves their ID and name properly, but if their name is a number the name field will be blank save for "name: " I figure someone else can come up with a better solution though,

Cameras aiming

Hi, I was messing up with PACs cameras and wanted to make a "Thirdperson" that let you aim where you want, but when I putled a model on "Hitpos" and makedthe camera aim to that model, it simply doesn't work.
