heic-cli

Convert HEIC/HEIF images to JPEG and PNG on the command line

Usage

npx heic-cli < input.heic > result.jpg

Full options (also printed with npx heic-cli --help)

Commands:
  heic-cli       convert HEIC image to JPEG or PNG                     [default]
  heic-cli info  see minimum info about each image in the file

Options:
  --version     Show version number                                    [boolean]
  --help        Show help                                              [boolean]
  --format, -f  The output format       [choices: "jpg", "png"] [default: "jpg"]
  --input, -i   The input file to convert, - for stdin            [default: "-"]
  --output, -o  The output file to create, - for stdout           [default: "-"]
  --images, -m  Which images to decode, -1 for all        [array] [default: [0]]

images with odd width generate incorrect output

Image is from an iPhone from a friend (didn't know the spec).

The correct result should be something like

heic-cli outputs:

move tests to GitHub actions

add ability to convert all frames inside a single file

Add node.js version dependancy

On one of our test servers, I had an old version of nodejs.
The code did not work and no errors were reported.

It worked fine when I updated to node 10.10.0.

I don't know the minimum requirements, but would be helpful to others, in case it's added to the documentation.

add option to control output jpeg quality

Question:

When I try to convert the image on your app
https://catdad-experiments.github.io/heic-app/

It takes in a 294KB heic image and outputs a 645KB image.

However, when I use the command line -

node bin < sample1.heic > sample1.jpg

sample1.jpg is 2.2 MB.

I guess quality is hardcoded to 1 ?

Any plans on giving an option to override it ?

add info command to show frame data
