This repo was the first thing I found when trying to find ways to work with HMDA data but it seems to be dormant for 5 years now. Is there something to replace this that is more current?

We either need a way to import the HMDA data that works for all supported DBs, or we need good instructions and helper scripts for importing the data for each DB.

While I appreciate the link to the FFIEC, anyone doing more than single loan/bank level analysis typically needs to identify which bank this really is, and the Respondent ID is not human readable. Please consider adding real bank names to the data, or at least provide a clear, easy link to this data as a simple csv file such as this one we created for California. Saves every user from finding these data in the html code on the FFIEC page and scraping it, reformatting.

The census tract information would be very nice to have. Blocked by #3.

The APOR calculator page is receiving a 404 error. Please advise when this will be back up and running. We need this tool to test for compliance related issues.

CBSA data and Census gazetteer data are specific to a year and can only be associated with certain years of HMDA data. We need the ability to download and import other years and somehow version that data.

We could have a year column in the cbsa, county, and state tables, like we do in the hmda table, although that would be problematic: does the year point to the year of data publication or the year of HMDA publication that the data should be associated with. Either one is confusing.

We could also have separate tables for each year's work of data, but that seems super painful for joins.

In order to make this work, we'll need specific importers for each versioned set of data, since the file formats don't stay the same and we'll need to hardcode which datasets pertain to which years of HMDA data. This is a blocker for #4.
