no any cyrillic input with chromium.

default input method works as expected in chromium and all methods works in text buffers.

.xprofile:

  export XMODIFIERS=@im=exim  
  export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim    
  export QT_IM_MODULE=xim     
  export CLUTTER_IM_MODULE=xim

Currently it seems that Wine just ignores XIM settings. Not sure if this is issue or planned behaviour.
Did someone check compatibility?

I set the right control key on my keyboard as compose key, but when that key is
pressed, I get this error.

<Multi_key> is undefined

and the solution is to run emacs with XMODIFIERS set to @im=none:

export XMODIFIERS=@im=none 

is there a way to solve it within exim?

I am looking for using the icy-mode for minor completions in my xterm. This is the direction I choose to look forward, as the program I am using is a 3D modeling software called BRL CAD, which is primarily a commandline interface to Constructive Solid Geometry editing.

This uses an OGL-based X-window to render the commands I choose, and makes use of the 4-cores to render using parallel processing when required. I am pretty sure, I do not need the unicode input, which is apparently the best use case for this library.

In such a case, is EXWM a good choice? If not, will EXIM be useful to fulfill what I am seeking?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question. But please suggest an alternate way.

Hi,

It seems that EXIM does not work with Qt5: all programs that I've tried (nomacs, telegram) completely
ignore setting a non-default language. After searching for this problem, I found that XIM is not supported by Qt5: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-49612?focusedCommentId=334078&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-334078

Is this a configuration issue, or EXIM doesn't support Qt5?

I need a function or a variable to test current input area is a emacs buffer or a x window's input box, any suggestion?
