I Would like to see the 0
(zero) char in the samples (as having a dotted or slashed zero would help choose the font ).
Showing one piece of code is fine, but the most common char should also be included
( like a-z
A-Z
0-9
/
*
-
+
... etc )
Editor auto coloring is nice to look at, but does not help judge the font.

Too much antialiasing for my taste. Any comparisons where the fonts are sharp and pixel-hinted at 10โ13 pt sizes?
Info from Unicode consortium: http://www.unicode.org/faq/han_cjk.html
Add download link next to the font name in the gallery
Need a description of the additional glyphs in powerline-modified fonts. I can't find it in the documentation.
Also need testers of mods on multiple platforms if we develop them.
Font mods should be submitted to the Powerline Fonts repository along with inclusion here.
Some font licenses are not open source, how to deal with it? How to quickly make the difference with F/LOSS typefaces? I am not even sure non open source (freeware) can be hosted on GitHub. What do you think?
Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see any links to the official pages of any of these fonts.

A recommendation tool of that calls out specific and useful character examples might be nice to see. Do you like this 'l' character or that one? or "here are pairs of confusing letters: 'Il' and 'O0'" - pick which pair you like the best..."
While choosing a font for coding, one of the most important factors to look for is how the font distinguishes between characters that resemble each other very closely. For example,
l
easily distinguishable from the number 1
?O
easily distinguishable from the number 0
?I'm sure there are more such examples. It would be nice if the screenshots chose code that makes it easy to spot this character of the font. For example, there could be variables named l1
and O0
.
In continuation of our discussion on reddit here, this issue is to track the idea that all these fonts are best directly compared is a configurable setting which is of most interest to the particular developer.

Update: response re: licensing below
Need help from others to complete this.
People may prefer bitmap or scalable fonts, or it's just nice to have that information for comparison.

English translation of description:
BDF UM + OUTLINE is the height 12 dots of M + BITMAP FONTS font which is a combination of [sourceforge.jp] and height 12 dots of Unicode fonts [cl.cam.ac.uk].
A bitmap by tracing it has been outlined.
Therefore unlike the original original BDF UM + [kaoriya.net], you will be able to be displayed in the Mac OS X and GNU / Linux (you can view even Windows).
We have recorded the same glyph as the original BDF UM +.The font and source

Any current prop font users out there, and if so, what fonts would you like to see here?

Add README with the following information per developer's request:
I'd be great if you included a readme in the folder with link to http://larsenwork.com/monoid/ telling users they can get customised version there as I plan on making it even more customisable in the future.
Multiple user reports in this Reddit thread:
Remove antialiasing and change font size to appropriate size for the font
I find it to be even more "sensitive"

I use Proggy Clean TT, and my font looks very different from your screenshot of Proggy Clean. Even resizing both your image and my font size I could not get PCTT to look as thick as your example. Is it just the case that the truetype version looks significantly different? See: http://grab.by/I4RE
