envshare's Issues

CLI tool for more use-cases

I would like to create the CLI, I have a previous expreiance to build it, also consider the options

That I told you about that, api can response text
As we could make it export the env and inject them to the system or we can leave this to the CLI,

This is would make a point for us cause there's no tool for that

UI Problem

text goes out the box which in case of more large text will be invisible or will be scroll in bad experience.

OG Image

I just realized when I shared this awesome product with a friend
image

It doesnt have an OG Image

So I'm opening an issue to address this and crafting the OG Image endpoint using @vercel/og

Mockup idea (not sold on the purple, there arent really "brand" colors for EnvShare so I'm just going with something that looks decent for now)

Onboarding

Hello there! Maintainers and contributors, My name is Franklin. I recently came across this project and I think it is amazing an beautiful, knowing fully well what it does, I will be happy and pleased if I can get some sort of onboarding from any maintainer or contributor or even a link to the contributing guide and also what is being worked on and how I can start contributing.

It will be my utmost honor and pleasure if I can get a response concerning this, I am willing to learn and contribute as much as I can.

Thank You.

NOTE; This issue is not related to the project but simply a way to get the attention of the maintainers and contributors.

Proposal to provide an api for sharing secrets

An Api for sealing and un-sealing secrets could be useful for a locally encrypted payload. As such someone could use the tool from any programming language.

An example APi could be an endpoint with TTL and a payload with the encrypted text as in :

POST /v1/seal/
body:
{
  ttl: 2,
  ttlTyp: "hours",
  encText: "EWRYERTYER",
}

Feel free to change the payload and the url. This is just an example

Feature: Add Support for Env File Drag and Drop

Hello EnvShare Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my appreciation for the EnvShare project and the fantastic user interface it provides. In fact, I was inspired by your UI and implemented a copy of it in my own project, private-key-converter.

I recently added a file drag and drop feature babblebey/private-key-converter#7 to my project, and I believe it would be a great addition to EnvShare as well. This feature allows users to drag and drop files directly onto the webpage for upload, providing a more intuitive and seamless user experience.

I would be happy to contribute the code for this feature to the EnvShare project if it aligns with your vision. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in, and I can work on preparing a pull request.

Thank you for considering this request, and keep up the fantastic work on EnvShare!

PS: Yes, I had to make this Issue look like a formal letter, so you know that I am super serious ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

CLI tool for more usecases

I mentioned the we can create a cli tool for that project, and it will be separate, so I recommend you create an organization for that to hold all things related to this project as the cli tool and the main project

Self-hosted

It's super easy to deploy envshare on Vercel. Could this be deployed in a self-hosted environment too?

Like if you could document the package and commands needed to install and run the app, it would be no big deal to spin up a Docker image.

Documentation

I'm thinking of starting the documentation for EnvShare (docs.envshare.com or envshare.com/docs) that'll host information pertaining to the service.
It will have

  1. A little more indepth information on how the front end client works/how data is stored
  2. A bit more insight to the cryptography flow used to help garner trust for anyone using the service
  3. Information for the CLI (coming soon) when it launches
  4. Information about the API (with the caveat of not using it to share unencrypted secrets) so people can create their own clients that utilize the API
  5. Changelogs so people can keep up to date with additions/modifications to changes in API/CLI

Any other thoughts/ideas?
I tend to use mintlify/docusaurus for documentation so it can be easily hosted on Vercel or GH Pages.
