I got this exception

ItemsAdapter.kt contains reference to an "ItemViewBinding" class (path: com.ciandt.recyclerviewbinding.databinding.ItemViewBinding).

The "ItemViewBinding" class and the "recyclerviewbinding.databinding" package is not present in the repository.

Edit: After checking some other examples it seems there is nothing missing from this project. I'd appreciate if you could help me out as Android Studio is reporting the ItemViewBinding class as an unresolved reference.
Edit 2: Figured it out. Will post solution later.
Edit 3 (5 months later): The bug was caused because of something in the XML file. I removed all references to databinding in that particular class and then added them again.
