The current order of the bibliometrics is fixed. Provide a mechanism for the user to customize the order.
Publish the utility to PyPI, including providing instructions for installing from PyPI, as well as setting up a workflow to automate publishing to PyPI on GitHub releases.
Compute the A-index and include in the SVG. Note that will need to rely on description in the articles describing the e-index and/or R-index since article originally describing the A-index is in Chinese. The R-index article includes the original author of the A-index among its co-authors, so maybe use that one.
Update Python to 3.12 in deployment workflow.
Revise workflow for publishing to PyPI to use tokenless publishing. This includes:
Add the h-median, the median number of citations to papers in the h-core. This is based on Google Scholar's h-median for a journal, but computing for a researcher instead of for a journal.
Currently, the SVG that is generated includes all of the bibliometrics that are computable from the user's Scholar profile first page, excluding only those that are 0. Provide a way for user to specify which to include.
Compute w-index: https://arxiv.org/abs/0805.4650
Describe the bug
Although the w-index is correctly computed and saved in the json summary file, it is excluded from the SVG.
Expected behavior
The w-index should be included.
Extract a main function from the if name == "main" block.
Reorganize code into a proper Python module. This will enable installing and then running with the -m
flag.
Compute the R-index (https://doi.org/10.1007/s11434-007-0145-9) and include in the SVG.
When configured to generate a JSON output file, either in addition to SVG or instead of, the bibliometrics that are floating-point values (e-index, A-index, and R-index, and sometimes h-median) are output as strings in the JSON file rather than as floats. This is due to the formatting for the SVG to round to 2 decimal places. In the JSON output, it would be more desirable to output as floats with the available precision.
Configure CI/CD workflow with matrix testing for Python versions. Matrix should include Python versions from 3.8 onward.
Compute the m-quotient (also called m-index). See these for more info:
Enable CodeQL analysis on pushes and PRs.
The e-index is a real-value, while all of the other bibliometrics are integers. It looks visually out of place where it currently is in the order of the metrics as displayed in the SVG. Change the default order so that it is last.
Compute o-index as described in: https://arxiv.org/abs/1511.01545
Add e-index as described in this article: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0005429
