bibliometrics's Issues

Publish to PyPI

Summary

Publish the utility to PyPI, including providing instructions for installing from PyPI, as well as setting up a workflow to automate publishing to PyPI on GitHub releases.

A-index

Summary

Compute the A-index and include in the SVG. Note that will need to rely on description in the articles describing the e-index and/or R-index since article originally describing the A-index is in Chinese. The R-index article includes the original author of the A-index among its co-authors, so maybe use that one.

Tokenless PyPI publishing

Summary

Revise workflow for publishing to PyPI to use tokenless publishing. This includes:

  • Configuring tokenless publishing on PyPI
  • Removing secrets from the GitHub repository
  • Revising the PyPI publishing workflow

h-median

Summary

Add the h-median, the median number of citations to papers in the h-core. This is based on Google Scholar's h-median for a journal, but computing for a researcher instead of for a journal.

Enable user to exclude some bibliometrics

Summary

Currently, the SVG that is generated includes all of the bibliometrics that are computable from the user's Scholar profile first page, excluding only those that are 0. Provide a way for user to specify which to include.

JSON output of e-index, R-index, and A-index should be floats and not strings

Summary

When configured to generate a JSON output file, either in addition to SVG or instead of, the bibliometrics that are floating-point values (e-index, A-index, and R-index, and sometimes h-median) are output as strings in the JSON file rather than as floats. This is due to the formatting for the SVG to round to 2 decimal places. In the JSON output, it would be more desirable to output as floats with the available precision.

Enable CodeQL

Summary

Enable CodeQL analysis on pushes and PRs.

Change default metric order such that e-index is last

Summary

The e-index is a real-value, while all of the other bibliometrics are integers. It looks visually out of place where it currently is in the order of the metrics as displayed in the SVG. Change the default order so that it is last.
