Cloud-Player is now aux.app

What a thrilling ride. However every ride comes eventually to an end. So does our ride with Cloud-Player. But nothing to be sad about because our new ride has already started at aux.app. This repository will not be maintained anymore.

Cloud-Player

Multiple providers – One player

Cloud-Player combines the libraries of multiple streaming providers into a single music player. Search for tracks on Youtube, SoundCloud or on Mixcloud and play them without switching between browser tabs. We are planning to extend Cloud-Player with even more music providers in the future. So far, it is using the official YouTube Data API, SoundCloud API and Mixcloud API

Native desktop player

We also have a native desktop player for macOS and Windows, so you can install the Cloud-Player app on your desktop and control the player with your media keys on your keyboard.

No signup required

You get a temporary account when you start Cloud-Player the first time so you don’t have to sign up. The account will be automatically deleted when you are not using Cloud-Player for more than 30 days. To persist your account and use it accross devices, login with your SoundCloud or YouTube account.

Add tracks to playlists

Create a Cloud-Player playlist to add YouTube, SoundCloud and Mixcloud tracks. Tracks can be also saved as favourites. Connect with your SoundCloud and YouTube account to synchronise already existing playlists and favourite tracks.

Continuous playback

Play tracks without any breaks thanks to our preloading and crossfading technology. When a track has finished playing you don’t have to wait until the next track starts playing. We also save your play queue automatically so when you come back later you can continue where you left off.

Add page to register device

Feature request: Display full track name on hover.

The playlist column is narrow, os it would be useful if the full track name could be displayed on hover.

Feature Request: ability to disable video playback for YouTube

YouTube can stream clear audio streams in aac, vorbis and opus formats. So it will be useful to have ability to play only audio tracks, that will decrease bandwidth and battery usage.

In fact I don't know how to get direct audio links from YouTube but it surly possible, regarding to a lot of browser extensions and services, e.g. https://en.savefrom.net/

Feature Request: YouTube Integration

Perhaps you could add YouTube login, as well. Then, people will have access to their existing playlists. If not, it shouldn't be too hard to save a YouTube playlist locally, i.e., by allowing users to "like" them, or whatever, from within Cloud Player, and simply saving a link/reference for each song/video. Ultimately, it would be cool to have an option to shuffle all songs from both Soundcloud and YouTube playlists.

Media Keys Not Working

The media keys on my keyboard worked the first time I used Cloud Player (i.e., to control Cloud Player), but haven't worked since.

How do I upload this project to web hosting?

I've tried cloning git using npm
and I have successfully run it on localhost,

but when this script is uploaded to the web hosting it can't function

How do you connect with Mixcloud API

I haven't been able to make sense out of how do you gather the data from Mixcloud because I did not find a single reference to it in your API build and neither did I see an API key. Could you please clarify this since I am a student and learning about API's and stuff. Thanks

Disappearing Likes

Soundcloud songs I "like" in Cloud Player do not seem to be saved, and they are not in my Likes the next time.

It's possible to move the silder, but there are no effects to the playback.

Any plans for releasing aux.app?

Are there any plans for releasing the changes made to the web (and api) that are currently running on aux.app? I assume forks would be available under https://github.com/auxdotapp .

Output Device settings.

I'm running on Opera and it's fork of Chromium.

Is there (or will there) an option setting to determinate which device output to? I'm wondering because on Discord Web, it possible to change the input and output device.

Twitter nag screen needs to disappear

Twitter nag screen needs to disappear either a) when someone follows you, or b) if they choose not to see it again, such as by dismissing it with a button.

Empty playlist

I had saved about 60 tracks in a playlist. Those tracks were in the playlist until the day before yesterday and today it says no track in the playlist. It annoys you beyond limits when you see your tracks lost like that.
P.S I am not using your desktop app, just playing through browser. I've also got an account.

Add lyrics function

I think it would be more nice to have the ability to add lyrics.

Soundcloud playlists sorted incorrectly

Soundcloud playlists sort tracks based on when the track was released on Soundcloud, not based on the actual track order for the list.

If there's any way to get filtering/ordering back into the playlists, that'd be great.

Could you update the repository

It seems like you have made a lot of fixes to the web app. Do you think you can update the codes on GitHub as well? The backend API doesn't have Mixcloud as an endpoint hence any searches would simply give a 404 error. However it seems like you have it working on your servers. So it would be great if you could update the codes on the GitHub repos. Thanks.

im on firefox 57, also it would be nice to have more sort options like month, week, year.

mutex

Maybe it would be a good idea to implement a mutex or something alike because I am consistently getting this bug where multiple instances of cloudplayer are starting themselves (I always start the program once) and even playing music in the background after I close the app.

Account connections aren't working

Account connections haven't been working for about two weeks now for either soundcloud or youtube, making it impossible to access playlists.

Feature Request: Shuffle!

Need to be able to shuffle songs! It gets old always hearing the same songs in the same order.

Feature Request: last.fm

Would it be possible to add last.fm scrobbling to aux.app? I like it quite a lot since I can use it with deezer and youtube combined.
Also, since youtube video titles are not properly formatted as artist name/song title, it would be could to overwrite that, so the correct metadata is sent.
