@spilchen: Can I ask you to investigate this further? It's not really related to the ALTER COLUMN TYPE work you have right now, but I think this could be a useful way to investigate how we normalize fully qualified type names. In this case, it seems like the issue is that we are displaying the fully qualified type name with the database defaultdb, when that type actually exists in a different database.
