If we have a JSON hit for the fish in RAM, send that down with the initial page.

Someone has discovered how to completely predict the weather in FFXIV. To eliminate reliance on external sites and to allow for predictions longer into the future, this algorithm should be integrated.

Two UI changes might also go well with this. First, hovering over the fish icon could bring up a tooltip which could display the time when the fish is next available (e.g. "Next window at 3:03am local time in 1hr 23min"), since this can now always be known. Second, perhaps optionally, a two Eorzean day window could be shown for all fish (instead of the current one day window).

Fish data will be evicted if enough time passes (it seems). Try to increase probability of cache hit for fish data by issuing a memcache get in the SkywatcherService.

Make it more visually obvious as to what the current state is.

Right now all state is cookie-based. If the user wishes that to work cross-browser, provide an optional way to sign in and save that data to the backend.

I see Aurora(?) instead of Gloom so the fish never show catchable. I gave it a try and pulled up an Aetherlouse yesterday when the site said it was uncatchable

Currently, the site recommends Lugworm, which has a 35% chance to hook the base mooch in the chain to catch Seahag.

There are 8 other baits with a 50% chance to hook the base mooch. Of these, the site should probably recommend either Pill Bug (cheapest bait) or Floating Minnow (cheapest lure).

This bug is the one that just won't die. It's probably the client choosing the wrong day based on the incoming weather report hour. To fix this, the server needs to be made aware of Eorzea time. The weather report sent down to the client should have the exact timestamp of the report instead of the client trying to figure it out.

Needs more investigation. Might just be browser/client settings preventing the data from being saved or cleared occasionally.

This seems to happen for fish that do not have a time requirement but have a weather requirement. Further, it only seems to reproduce if weather exists until midnight, but not for the interval that follows. It does not seem to repro if you have the weather up to some other boundary.

This is to combat the outgoing bandwidth being used by appengine.

The log says something to the effect of cannot modify 'style' of null.

System tooltips are too slow. Add custom tooltip for all the truncated text, mooch paths, and predator tooltips.

The description is all wrong due to copy/paste.

In the "Next Catchable" view, it's a problem because the Predator fish row might be really far away from the fish requiring it. Maybe better tooltipping or linking to the predator row or something would be good. Need to think about the best way to show the information.

At the time of writing this, latency was around 277ms on average. It should be closer to sub 50ms considering the data is in RAM.

This will still leave color definition up to the user, but also allow the user to hide based on their definition (i.e. I caught this fish)

The time has come to prune the json being sent down from /skywatcher. Gson offers annotations on the server classes to control serialization, so just use that.

A view where a user could determine sort orders such as activity or by color code they've chosen.

Examples include fish like The Captain's Chalice, Coelacanthus, and Shark Tuna which depend on Fullmoon Sardine. The Fullmoon Sardine is a normal fish but with a time requirement - only catchable at night.

Another example includes Shonisaurus which requires Mahar. Mahar requires Blizzards.

Also important is Kuno the Killer which requires Canavan. Canavan has a Gloom/time requirement and Kuno has a time requirement. Kuno is currently reported as catchable even if Canavan isn't.

This is especially important for those rare-window fish or those last-to-be-collected fish.

This site provides "at a glance" detail whereas other sites provide great data depth.
