Even if mp4 is selected the narrative will be exported/shared as MOV in low quality.

This app can import any kind of music

Actual behavior

It turned out that import music in m4a format failed

How to reproduce

• Download app on playstore
• Provide music in m4a format in your filemanager.
• Open the Com-phone app
• Tap ➕ to add a new frame
• Tap 🔊 to select music files
• Tap 🎵 to select music
• Tap on the m4a music format you have prepared earlier
• Click OK. Your import failed

Device: ONE PLUS 2 OxygenOS Version 3.6.1

This use to be the cases of a background music or general explanation.

I am not sure if would be better a new level in which an audio can be attached to more than one section or just a global option for all the narrative.

While #2 isn't currently reproducible, trying to export a narrative using the audio sample file from that issue fails silently.

Potentially fixed in 05464f0, but adding an issue here just in case as this is the first local encounter with this longstanding bug that is seen semi-regularly on Google Play. Error:

I was thinking if it was possible to convert images to a same format, optionally and choosing webp for that task, in order to get a final low size output.

This is more a feature request.

A friend told me that would like to export the HTML version with autoplaying possibility which is allowed itself.

A user reported an issue with MP4 export (Com-Phone v1.6 (36)) on the following device.

B3-A40, acer/B3-A40_ww_gen1/acer_asgard, v24 (7.0), 800x1280-m-x

An error message is given (probably export_narrative_failed or export_creation_failed), and the export does not complete.

This is an issue detected while checking #13.

It seems that audio are not played if the narrative is played from the beginning.

As pointed a friend, if you start playing from the part containing the audio, this one is played correctly and if, after that, you re-play the narrative, the audio is played correctly.

Expected behavior

Multiphoto must work. Excerpted from the reply of the project owner to comments on the playstore, this App supports multiphoto selection

Social media stories typically can handle video afaik. I'm not all that hip with the big social media silos, but I know instagram can handle video in stories. Seems right now com-phone can only take photos as frames, not videos.

I've had this app installed for a while because I liked the idea of it, but I hadn't had a use for it until today. But my source material are all videos, so I couldn't actually use comphone for my purpose. That was a bummer.

Would you consider making your app available outside Play Store as well (e.g. attaching the APK to releases/, or even bringing the app to F-Droid – so folks without Playstore access can use it as well?

All narratives are currently exported square, to avoid having to deal with cropping/zooming.

A better approach (plus a setting to enable/disable) would be to track photo dimensions and select the appropriate aspect ratio for the exported movie.
