lixie-hardware's Issues

Have you ever experimented with larger sizes?

Just out of curiosity. I’m probably looking for a larger display, at least 150mm tall figures. In your opinion, do you think just scaling-up the parts would be sufficient or does something more subtle with the LEDs need to be done?

Add an aux power connector

It might be a good idea to add an auxiliary power connector to the back of the board (or at least the pads for one), to add supplementary power for larger installations.

Flipping Digits when Etching

Hey! I love the project. I've been going through the process of making a few Lixies and was wondering if you've considered flipping the digits to be backwards before etching. I've found from most blog posts and maker articles on edge-lit acrylic that things look brighter when you present the smooth side of the acrylic with the etching on the back, rather than the side with the etching. This would mean that you mirror the design and engrave it on the back rather than the front.

I haven't gotten to testing it yet myself so I can't verify if it works, nor do I have the reversed design to make a pull request, but was wondering if you've considered it.
