Hey Ed,
I think passing an array to config files feels more "correct" but yeah I agree it is not clear enough at the moment. I've updated the readme to reflect this.
Also, is schema validation of options something that has been considered?
It hasn't been considered. I guess it would be nice but is probably overkill considering includeBranch is the only option that splits into an array.
