名称出处
凯尔·莫罕（Kaer Morhen）是上古语(精灵语)中的“卡尔阿木以拉罕(Caer a'Muirenhen)”，意为古海要塞(Old Sea Fortress)。因为城堡所在地曾是一片沧海，蓝山上有许多的海洋生物化石，于是有了古海要塞这个名字。
凯尔·莫罕是一座难以抵达的山岳要塞，狩魔猎人公会总部数世纪以来就位于此处。坐落于科德温境内的蓝山之中、葛温里屈河之上的凯尔·莫罕位于文明世界的边缘，被世人遗忘，很少有人知道通往堡垒的路。
