Find a food sponsor is great and all, but don't forget about the paper plates, cups, and napkins. I completely forgot about mine at my first meetup. Just making sure we should mention it somewhere here.

We should be encouraging all meetups to use BigMarker for go meetups. More information here: https://github.com/remotemeetup/go

Either sponsors pay direct or organizer pays and gets reimbursed. meetup.com allows payments to be accepted via WePay. Sponsors cant write personal checks. So WePay is nice since it can be a credit card. The downside is that their fees are very high.

People love to promote their products/groups. Add a section that lists who will send out swag to meetups and the point of contact.

Include mention of one day conferences like GothamGo and Gopherfest

Add a template for community documents such as the Denver, Chicago, and Minneapolis documents.

Yes, swag is awesome, companies will send it!

Add signs to doors- entry doors, company door, office door, etc.

This isn't a good example. You basically directed a message to @varunksaini. The general twittersphere (those people not using the website) might have seen it, but those people using the website will never see it unless they go to your Tweets & replies tab, which, most rarely do.

A better example:

Note the leading . in front of @varunksaini - That prevents it from being a directed tweet.

Many people are willing to speak but they want some topics to speak on. We should list some general topics that are great for talks if anyone wants idea.s
