couchdb's Issues

readme

Please create a read me for this project?

hows this related to the the apache repo?

Hey!
I noticed that the couchbase/couchdb makes for much saner reading than the apache repo which seems to have turned into like 25 different inscrutably named micro repos. What is the relationship between the two code bases andor when did they diverge and why?

many thanks

problem to build on debian wheezy

I am building couchdb on debian wheezy (so to build with geocouch later).

I am following instructions in INSTALL.Unix file:
sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install erlang libicu-dev libmozjs-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev

git clone https://github.com/couchbase/couchdb.git
cd couchdb
./bootstrap
./configure
...
checking for JS_NewContext in -lmozjs... no
checking for JS_NewContext in -ljs... no
checking for JS_NewContext in -ljs3250... no
checking for JS_NewContext in -ljs32... no
configure: error: Could not find the js library.

Is the Mozilla SpiderMonkey library installed?

Although I can see the library there:
/usr/lib/libmozjs.so

Has the build on wheezy been recently tested ? Am I doing something wrong ?

erlang version preventing install

Requirement states 5.6.5+, however installed version is 6.2

configure: error: The installed Erlang version is less than 5.6.5 (R12B05).

$ erl
Erlang/OTP 17 [erts-6.2] [source] [64-bit] [smp:8:8] [async-threads:10] [hipe] [kernel-poll:false]
