simpad's Introduction

SimPad

Various hacks for Padauk MCU, the infamous "0.03USD" microcontroller. This is work in progress, don't expect anything to be functional or useful.

Folders

Experimental programmer for Padauk MCU based on Arduino Nano, currently living on a breadbord. Not ready for production use, but can maybe serve es a reference. See folder for a description of shortcomings.

If you are in need of a programmer for the Padauk MCU, please check out the EasyPDKProg.

Firmware, very incomplete work in progress. Is currently able to program PMS150C, PFS154, PMS154C. Right now, no host communication is implemented and the binary needs to be pasted into the source. Debug output is sent to serial output at 115200 baud. Will program a "blinky" into PFS154C in the current configuration.

Information on programming protocol

Toolchain based on EASYPDKPROG and SDCC. Includes a few examples.

simpad's Issues

Unclear assemble instructions

This is a really cool project, it's really exciting to see a padauk programmer made out of an Arduino!

However, the instruction at https://github.com/cpldcpu/SimPad/blob/master/Hardware/Readme.md is not really clear. It will be nice to add some additional information on pins(e.g. the digital/analogue pin number on Arduino and the pin number on padauk chip instead of only showing the pin name).

Btw, I am your super fan! I read every article on your blog and your candle reverse engineering article really amazed me.

Is PFC154 really supported?

The README claims support for the PFC154.

But AFAIK, this device, unlike the similar PFS154, is not yet available; the datasheet was released just yesterday.

If you have a source for the PFC154, it could be useful to also add support for this device to the easy-pdk-programmer (free-pdk/easy-pdk-programmer-software#8).
