A JavaScript plugin to create a Facebook photo selector
Home Page: http://www.carsonshold.com/2012/07/facebook-photo-selection-plugin/
It is having trouble for display on cell phones.
Facebook has updated their modals to remove rounded corners and a thick, semi-transparent. CSS needs to be updated in this plugin.
If anyone wants to contribute, let me know.
I think it's related to access_token.
First up thanks for creating this plugin, it's exactly what I needed.
The Photo
object that is returned has both a picture
URL and a source
URL and these URLs are not the same. The picture
URL seems to point to smaller version of the full image, and the source
URL seems to point to the full sized image. Is that always going to be the case?
Can I safely store these URLs in my app's database, or should I just store the FB id and retrieve the actual image URL each time?
Cheers
Dave
Hi!
Great plugin! Looking decent :)
I can confirm that the script is no longer working. I am using demo on your website.
I created brand new facebook user account to test that, every photo is publicly available, but I get the following message: "Sorry, your friend won't let us look through their photos". I have only 2 photos - profile photo which is public, and one timeline photo which is also public.
and the response from facebook is:
FB.__globalCallbacks.fc46f937c({"data":[]});
Any ideas how to fix that?
I'm trying to use your plugin. What are your settings for your facebook app? What are your facebook permissions? I'm assuming since this is pulling down a users images at least the user_photos permission should be set in the facebook app?
I'm having the issue that if the user logins in (using your plugin) an alert is then return saying "Sorry, your friend won't let us look through their photos". Not sure why this is happening?
This is FANTASTIC but I would like to prompt them to login if they are not logged in when they click the button, this way they dont have to click TWO buttons to get to their pics.
Anyway to do this?
Hello,
not sure what the cause is, but the plugin is not working inside a facebook app tab.
Works fine on the source document, fine on the canvas, but not working inside an embedded tab.
No error messages inside the console, the image selector is just not popping up.
Any hints on how to resolve?
Thanks!
I think it's safe to add to the wishlist
Receive this error as the developer when trying to login:
Invalid Scopes: friends_photos. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions
Anyone up for contributing?

Any interest in adding a license to this repo? For example https://github.com/jquery/jquery/blob/master/MIT-LICENSE.txt
When I try to get the albums from another fb account I get the error:
"Sorry, your friend won't let us look through their photos"
Hi, this is a great code/app. It works fine, but my album with instagram pictures won't show the pictures that are in that map, but loads the pictures from the last opened map. The cover of the album does show a picture that is in that instagram map. Does this have something to do with privacy or security reasons from instagram?
Sure they can be customizable, but it seems to me they should have default values instead of having to set up boilerplate every time one implements the plugin.
