screenlocker's Issues

Unable to unlock screen even with correct password

System: ArchLinux (Updated)
Version: 0.4 (with package cutefish-screenlocker-0.4-1)

After locking the screen, I was trying to unlock it with the password. But it gives nothing but "Unlocking failure". The only thing I can do is to kill the corresponding PID to terminate the process.

This is the output when I ran this program in terminal.

Screen locks despite video being played

Hello! I just left the computer to go to the store, and left a Youtube video (stream) playing in Brave (very similar to and based on Chromium). While the monitors have been set to turn off after 5 minutes using an xset command (see issue #3 ), and this did NOT happen due to the video being played, however when I came back the screen lock had been activated.

This could be an issue especially at lower timeouts when watching videos and especially when playing games with a controller (since there would be long periods without mouse/keyboard activity).

I believe the functionality that would have to be implemented is either https://linux.die.net/man/1/xdg-screensaver (xdg-screensaver), where cutefish-screenlocker would handle "suspend" events and not lock the screen when a video or game is active. Either that, or it could have to do with DBus as described in this link: https://people.gnome.org/~mccann/gnome-screensaver/docs/gnome-screensaver.html

I apologize for creating so many issues, I'm just trying to help you make Cutefish into an even better desktop, it's already great!

Screen lock not engaging on Suspend or Screen off

Hi
I have just installed the latest version of Cutefish but when the screen goes off, either clicking on the "Suspend" button or I close the lid of the laptop, the lock never engages. So the next time the screen goes on then the password is never asked.
See settings below.

The only way to engage the lock is to lock the screen manually first (Option + L) or to wait for the screen timeout (i.e. 15 minutes in the example) .

Please let me know how I can best help to submit more technical details.
thanks

Monitor shut off does nothing (Possibly due to dual monitor setup)

Hi, I wasn't able to get my monitors turned off even with the setting to turn it off after 10 minutes.

xset q returns the following for the dpms (power saving) information:
DPMS (Energy Star):
Standby: 0 Suspend: 0 Off: 0
DPMS is Enabled
Monitor is On

A setting of 0 means that the X server will not do the action, ever. If we are going to stick wtih X11 for the time being, it would be a good idea for the power menu setting to update this information with the command:

xset dpms 0 0 420

When the user sets the timeout to be 5 minutes, and have this setting applied on every new login somehow

2 minutes
xset dpms 0 0 120

10 minutes
xset dpms 0 0 600

15 minutes
xset dpms 0 0 900

30 minutes
xset dpms 0 0 1800

The current workaround I am doing to make this usable is to add the xset command to the script that I run every login (which rotates and moves the monitors with an arandr script, does the xset command, and then executes xbindkeys to add some shortcuts for the launcher and launching terminal). When Cutefish supports running stuff on login it will be trivial to add it to autostart.
