This course introduces the use of Bash and Python for beginner Bioinformatic students

This course will teach learners to:

• appreciate the use of Bash and Python for working with big data
• select the appropriate Bash tool to achieve a specific goal
• break down coding problems into manageable, ordered goals
• write useful pseudocode
• create and run scripts of code
• recreate or code a Bash tool in Python, developing additional functionality not available with the base tool
• spot and debug errors in code
