This is the Atom theme I didn't know that I couldn't live without! Absolutely love it.

Unfortunately the cursor is very hard to see when it's next to an outlined parenthesis. In this screenshot the cursor is between the ( and the a:

I guess the easiest way to make the cursor stand out a bit more from the outline would be to change the color of the outline and/or the cursor, but maybe changing the width of the cursor in this particular situation, or drawing the outline on three sides only are options as well (I have no idea what is actually feasible).
