gsoc-puhumod's Issues

GSOC app fonts are too big

Description:
GSOC app fonts are too big.

Steps to reproduce:

  • start /usr/local/gsoc/gsoc_app_v1

Expected result:
Fonts of VFOs should be too big to fit in a dedicated area. Other fonts are bigger too, yet they manage to fit in.

RFC - Project Direction

Thanks @d3cker for getting the project this far. It sounds like you want to focus your efforts on the head -> base protocol which is great. In the meantime, where do you see this project going? Do you see a full-fledged distro full of common ham apps? Do you see a more basic platform for users to customize? Or, do you see this as more of a platform for building something else?

No matter what, there is a long list of improvements to explore, I'm just wondering where you see things going so we can focus on going in that direction.

GSOC app doesn't store VFOs

Description:
GSOC app doesn't store VFOs on exit.

Steps to reproduce:

  • start /usr/local/gsoc/gsoc_app_v1
  • change frequency and close the app
  • start /usr/local/gsoc/gsoc_app_v1 again

Expected result:
Once restarted default frequency should be set up instead of last used.

Move to a mainline kernel

This may not be possible depending on the patch set used on the stock kernel.

Looking at the loaded kernel modules, most drivers appear to be built in rather than built as loadable modules. My guess is to simplify the booting process.

Wifi timeouts on authentication (TP-Link TL-WN821N) - temporarily disabled NetworkManager

Description:
Wifi catches authentication timeout upon start. This is the reason why NetworkManager is not used.
USB device must be reconnected to make it work as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

  • power on/reboot the device
  • log in and start wpa_supplicant

Expected result:

[ 176.826768] wlan0: authenticate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
[ 177.174582] wlan0: send auth to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3)
[ 177.384499] wlan0: send auth to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 2/3)
[ 177.594497] wlan0: send auth to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 3/3)
[ 177.804493] wlan0: authentication with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx timed out
