The DayZ Universal Api Mod and Web Service this is my attempt to make a Universal Api Backend for the server hosters, allowing for a robust, easy to use and set up backend. and for modders an easy to use API wrapper to help them make hived and cross-server mods more easily. With the mod and API I handle authentication and client tokens allowing you to ensure that the data you are accessing and using is secured, preventing rouge and unwanted access to the APIs.

Hello, I go by Daemon Forge Online and I mainly develop open-source Mods for DayZ 🙃

I currently live just outside of Toronto, with my Wife and Dog(Cloud) I enjoy playing all types of games but mostly love creating new things.

I may not have the most orthodox methods for coding but hey, if it works, it works :) I strive to learn as much as I can as well as teach as much as I can at the same time, the biggest way you can help me and my work, is to pay it forward take something you've learned from me or my work and help others learn as well :)

  • Heroes And Bandits A mod that adds humanity to Dayz in a very expandable way, allowing for server owners and mod creators to dictate almost everything including the ability to create customized Levels and Actions, as well as the ability to create customized zones for exclusive use based on the player's humanity
  • Basic Bombs A mod that brings in craft able pipe bombs to DayZ
  • Tweak Broken Legs A mod that allows server owners to tweak broken legs on players
  • Basic Map Mod A simple Map GUI for helping players get around
  • Hacking Mod A mod that brings the ability to hack Codelocks to DayZ
  • Reduce Car Damage and Reduce Vehicle Damage A mod used to help reduce damage from car crashes in DayZ
  • Expansion Code Locks Expanded A mod that allows Expansion code locks to be added to vanilla fences and tents also includes a variant of the hacking mod for expansion
  • Snap Heli To Helipad Mod A mod that allows for helicopters from the expansion mod to snap on to the helipads helping them stay in place over server restarts and helping players upright fallen over helicopters
  • Universal API A mod and web service backend that provides modders with SDK to store data in a MongoDB database
  • Hived Banking A mod that utilizes the Universal API Mod to allow servers to have bank accounts for players that span multiple servers
  • UpTimeRobot Heart Beat Mod This mod allows server owners to use this mod to track server outages via the heartbeat monitor type from uptimerobot.com
  • Basic Territories Mod
    A simple Territory mod for managing bases on the server and No build zones to prevent players from building in areas the servers don't want
  • Map Link (Demo Video) A mod that allows players to travel between servers

Future Projects

This mod will allow for players to be able to travel between servers.

  • Treasures Map (BasicMap) Mod This mod works with Basic Map to create random stashes around the map for players to spawn while also marking on the map (spawned via CE) where the treasure is.
  • Player Markets Mod Allowing players to create market stands Market Safe Zones that would allow you to have a safe place for players to set up their stands Guard AI to allow for semi-safe zones for more Hardcore servers

Server mods

Hey @DaemonForge! Me again, with another question! 😄
I'm interested in understanding more about how you link mods with a server and their Steam Workshop IDs.

I started exploring Valve server queries, using gamedig library. By requesting server rules, I got a response like this:

This is the server I used: https://daemonforge.dev/Server/?ip=198.251.83.51&port=2405

But this response only gives me weird chars with the mod's names, but no Steam Workshop IDs.
I thought this could be a case of filtering this response and finding another method to link IDs, but I see you don't even request server rules with gamedig, but rather connect to an external MongoDB.

So I was wondering, how do you do this? What's the process to get these mod's info and link to a server?

[BUG] GUID

We tested it multiple times: when we go from server a to server b there is no problem, when we go back to server a there could be this problem but when we go back to server b the problem is more then 85%. We get an error (0x00040033) You got kicked from the server. Login-Error: A player with your UID is in the Game.

Our Steps: we take the Terminal to the other Map. There we waited about 5 min. Then we go back to the first Server. Then we waited 5 min again and go back to the Second Server. Now i could happen but most of the time it happens by the next Time.
